Israel Wins Bronze Medal

Ok, it’s not Gold, but we’ll take it.

Israeli sailor Shahar Tzuberi won an Olympic bronze medal Wednesday, after finishing his 10th RS:X windsurfing sail at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the third place overall.

Tzuberi, who had several stormy sails, began the race just outside medals’ reach, ranking fourth overall. The 19-year-old surfer from Eilat was considered one of the Israeli Olympic team’s best hopes for a medal.

Mazal tov!

Mazal tov to Shahar. Very exciting!

    Well done Shahar!

I take it that the Iranian windsurfers felt seasick and couldn’t compete?

Dave – That one must have been very satisfying, given that he kept the Brit out of the medals.

Obviously at this point, being the proud Brit that I am, I have to ask what has happened to the Ozzies?

    That’s great.

I’ve been so disillusioned about sports that I haven’t even been following the Olympics this year, but this one made me smile.

  4. Toddah Rabbah Sahar! All of us in Yisroel are proud of you! Have a great Sabbat and even better trip back home.
