Jon Voight Rips Roseanne
A few days ago I blogged about Roseanne Barr’s scathing attack on fellow celebrity Jon Voight.
Well, Jon’s not going to take it lying down. Here’s his response:

Jon Voight’s words about me, where he totally blames the victim, as all right wingers always do:
“We can never be surprised at what vile evil comes from the mouth of a confessed victim of child abuse”“Confessed victims of child abuse”….like “confessed criminals, confessed rapists, and confessed child abusers and confessed murderers” this sick and twisted statement sits happily on the front page of EXTRA on line… I guess the people at EXTRA agree that children who are being abused should keep their mouths shut! “confessing” (telling the authorities) that you are abused makes you vile and evil! warner brothers should be ashamed of themselves.

Well, she has a point. I didn’t really understand that sentence by Voight when it first came out.
PS. I still think that Roseanne’s crass and Voight’s class.
i thik roseanne is fat and obnoxious. if she was my kid id probably be forced to abuse her too, lol.
I thought Jon Voight’s response was pretty tame after the scathing personal attack of Rosanne.
I am for Obama, but I can understand a rational person supporting McCain. It is not Black and White (pardon the pun). McCain has a solid past. 5 years ago I might have considered voting for him. I am most concerned about the last few years where he pandered to the Christian Right, and showed unbridled support of the Iraq war, which I consider a catastrophe for America, the Western world and the war on terror.

So who was it that:
* Says our soldiers in Iraq deserve to die for terrorizing and brutalizing the populace?
* Accused the women Clinton sexually harrassed of lying/wanting it?
* Blamed the 9/11 attacks on America saying we deserved it and/or brought it on ourselves?
* Blames Georgia for what Russia is doing to it?
* Blames America for creating terrorists that want to destroy it?
* Blames the police officer that Mumia Abu-Jamal murdered for his death?
* Blames Israel for the terrorist attacks comitted against it?
I could go on all day, but here’s a hint: It ISN’T “Right Wingers”.

I believe that Voight phrased that sentence badly. He meant that she claimed to be a victim of child abuse, although the facts don’t warrant that claim.
Have you seen her blog? The woman is, quite literally, insane, although she says quite boldly that she doesn’t believe in insanity. Perhaps Voight shouldn’t have responded, but what else could he do? Too many people believe that an unanswered accusation is the same as a confession.
It’s kinda messed up he used the term “confessed victim of child abuse”. I mean, c’mon! Rosanne IS insane but since when does someone CONFESS to being abused as a child? I think he is warranted a response but that’s a pretty poor choice of words on his part.
Maybe he meant “professed” victim. Basically he seems to be denying she was abused.
