For that reason a lot of the foreign workers take helicopters between the rigs and the airport without ever setting foot on Nigerian soil proper. I wouldn't be worrying about Iran getting cosy with them, we (israel) have very good ties with a few of their neighbours but China are the real players in the countries running through the tropic of cancer.
