What Happens When You Have Too Much Time on Your Hands

Well it took over 5 years, but I’ve finally hit the big time, with the first Israellycool “impostor” site.

Israellybigot – Inside the mind (a really scary place) of an ex-Aussie bigot.

The URL is the equally clever http://aussiedavebigot.blogspot.com/.

As you can probably tell, “Michael” is quite the wit. (Although I suspect I may only be half right).

Clearly with an abundance of time on his hands, Michael also runs a number of other anti-Israel blogs, including dis-Honest Reporting, devoted to making an ass of himself trying to criticize Honest Reporting.

Please join me in wishing Michael a hearty “good luck finding gainful employment.”

I, for one, am offended. Firstly, because no one has done this yet for my site (although http://debunkingzionism.blogspot.com/“target=”_blank”>one obsessive Israel-bashing fan comes close.) Secondly, because he did such a poor job of it. If you are going to make fun of someone, at least have some sort of sense of humor. Since Michael seems to have ADHD, chances are pretty good that your doppelganger site will quickly become yet another of those ghost blogs that sit, dusty and moldy, long after the creators have moved on to creating the equally witty "MAMRI".

Yes. I would have liked to have seen him writing spoof posts in your style, rather than just posting something that says you're a bigot. He's really not the least bit creative…. and as much as I would like to list all the ways he could have really made more of his site, it is clear he reads yours, so I won't bother helping him out. In any case, congratulations to you, Dave… it seems that despite the slow commenting on the site, you're a force nonetheless!

  3. Michael says:

Dammit Dave, you've gone and blown it! You could have played it cool and pretended not to even notice such an insignificant little thing. Instead, you've gone and done an entire post on it, with the result that you've now written more about my blog, than I've written about yours! Now that's funny.

  4. israellycool says:

A lot funnier than your blog.

  5. Shy Guy says:

Time to coin a new term: "bloggerbator"

  6. Jo says:

He should be happy that at least someone is reporting about him… and for the humor: it would be quite difficult to reach Dave's and the EoZ's level…;-)

  7. Jo says:

Maybe Michael has some more time on his hands…

  8. israellycool says:

    How about "blanker"?

  9. MsMissive says:

    Blog wars are fun.

  10. Shy Guy says:

That's only for bloggerbators who doublespace their entries. :)

  11. Trish says:

The good news is that you've achieved enough status to be the target of satire. The bad news is that this isn't satire. It isn't much of anything.

  12. Purple Raider says:

You're kidding, right. Mikey, you might want to be a bit more funny, and a lot more intelligent. Otherwise, the only blogs you are satirizing are your fellow racist leftist websites, like DU and Kos. Good luck with your future.

  13. Ahuva says:

I for one would like to wish you a congratulations for achieving this celebrity status. And I would like to wish michael good luck. And I would also like to wish a Chag Sameach to all :)

  14. Jack says:

What a fine fellow he is.

  15. Michael says:

Dave, I think this post answers your "what it will take for you guys to comment?" question. The last time a post here (besides the "what will it take…?" post) got more comments than this one was about 90 posts ago. Uniformity of opinion doesn't generate much discussion.

  16. israellycool says:

But I'm confused. There is uniformity of opinion in this thread- everyone pretty much agrees you are a tosser with too much time on your hands. If you have been reading my blog back at least 90 posts, then you are probably aware my father passed away. Funny thing is, I don't remember your condolence message.

  17. Michael says:

Seems pretty straight forward to me. A controversy or a point of tension usually generates comments. If your readers are like-minded, they most likely read a post and go "uh-huh' – no need to comment. That isn't likely to change. Most blogs find that a low-level of dissenting opinion dramtically increases commenting. That's the nature of the beast. But if you're happy with your reader numbers, does a lack of comments really matter?

  18. L. King says:

This Michael fellow looks like a real moron and a bigot to boot. The kind of person who comments on violence, but solely for the purpose of cheering it on. But is he really from Australia? I've been there and everyone I met was way smarter than that.

  19. Trish says:

Michael is right about one thing. His is definitely a low level of opinion.

  20. Jay says:

Seems Michael is acting a bit jealous. What a wanker.
