As we head in to this Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, I wish you all a G’mar Chatima Tova – may you be sealed in the Book of Life.
Blogging will resume some time after Yom Kippur ends, tomorrow evening Israel time.

Have a happy fast! And Gmar Chatima Tova-thingy thing to you too.
Wait, I meant .. have a solemn fast..silly me.
Well that was better than I expected. My first Yom Kippur in Israel (my wife is sure I've been here before). I did fast, which is by no means the norm amongst the Israelis I stay with, and have just had a nice hot cup of tea and a piece of bread. If you're reading this in America and fasting, don't you know you're not supposed to use a computer? I want to post something about what happens on the roads in Israel on Yom Kippur. It's quite something. I took a walk to look at the Ayalon 10 lane freeway that runs through Tel Aviv and the site of people walking or cycling on this with no cars looked like something from an apocalyptic video where the oil had run out! Fantastic sight.
Hope the fast went well. Chana Tova !
Sound pretty amazing ! I'd love to spend a Yom Kippour in Israel…
