My first Yom Kippur in Israel (my wife is sure I've been here before). I did fast, which is by no means the norm amongst the Israelis I stay with, and have just had a nice hot cup of tea and a piece of bread. If you're reading this in America and fasting, don't you know you're not supposed to use a computer? I want to post something about what happens on the roads in Israel on Yom Kippur. It's quite something. I took a walk to look at the Ayalon 10 lane freeway that runs through Tel Aviv and the site of people walking or cycling on this with no cars looked like something from an apocalyptic video where the oil had run out!
