Prosecutor: Tulkarem burglar ‘impersonated a woman’
A burglar who impersonated a woman in a village near the West Bank city of Tulkarem was arrested on Sunday, the prosecutor’s office in the city said.
The prosecutor said the suspect was wearing a mask when he knocked at the door of his neighbor’s house in the village of Shweika. The suspect, menacing the woman with a knife, then demanded that the owner of the house hand over her cash and jewelry.
The woman then pulled the mask from the burglar’s face, causing him to stab her. She was taken to Thabet Thabet hospital in Tulkarem for treatment.
Rumor has it he was a dead ringer for Hanan Ashrawi.
