Of Lies and Lizards

From time to time, I notice “fake” trackbacks. These are usually created by internet marketing or search engine optimization companies that ping my posts, with what I assume is the intention of having me click on the trackback link and visit their site.

One that has appeared frequently in the past week is this site. Unlike most of the other such sites, there was something about it that seemed familiar to me.

Then I realized what it was.

The site seems to have swiped the Little Green Footballs lizard!

What makes this even sadder is the post appearing on the Lessnau site:

I’ve wanted to come up with a social media network that is unique and simple enough to excite in the masses and take off with a small kick start.

Umm, you’re doing it all wrong.
