Besides saying “Shalom” to Gibson at 1:00 (with Gibson responding with a “Shalom” of his own), Kimmel gives Gibson a free pass regarding the latter’s anti-Semitic comments in 2006 (he does mention the incident at 5:02, but with reference to another of Gibson’s comments).
As TMZ says:
Mel Gibson is denying parts of his infamous DUI tirade — but not the anti-Semitic stuff … just a chauvinistic insult.
