The UNIFIL in southern Lebanon is on its way to “disintegrating” after Poland announced it was withdrawing its troops. Which means it will not be effective in preventing Hizbullah from rearming or otherwise acting against Israel. Oh wait..

Updates (Israel time; most recent at top)

11:15PM: CNN interview with Syrian Ambassador to the US Imad Moustapha.

Observations:

  1. Paging Mike Meyers.
  2. That was one of the most awkward openings to an interview I have ever seen.
  3. Notice how at around 3:30, he says he personally believes it is better to do business with someone like Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman than someone like former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.

9:00PM: The Egypt-Nasrallah smackdown continues, with an Egyptian state-controlled newspaper calling the Hizbullah leader a “Monkey sheikh.”

Given his ties to Iran’s Ahmadinejad, I think it’s rather appropriate.

5:10PM: Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and PA President Mahmoud Abbas have made nice, having a conversation described as “warm and friendly.”

“Warm and friendly?” Sounds more like Fozzy Bear to me.

5:05PM: A Hamas bomb-making factory has been found inside a mosque in Qalqiliya.

Where’s the condemnation from Muslims around the world regarding this latest mosque desecration?

10:48AM: Egyptian parliament members and legalists have called for an international arrest warrant against Hizbullah’s Hassan Nasrallah following his speech.

If he does end up in jail, let’s hope his end really is up, with a Hizbubba cellmate.

“Owwwwwww!”

10:17AM: Wow, Gomer Pyle really does work for UNIFIL.

9:35AM: Here’s a reality check for those of you who think Syria is genuinely interested in peace talks with Israel.

Information Minister Mohsen Bilal has affirmed that backing resistance is Syria’s choice for achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region, noting that this support is in keeping with its unswerving adherence to the Arab rights.

9:02AM: Yet another photo showing Gazans crammed into Gaza.

At least when soccer is involved.

8:55AM: Important post by Elder of Ziyon in which he  shows (with the help of a commenter and Camera) how the UNRWA school casualty list from the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) proves the IDF’s claim that 12 civilians were killed.
