The Day In Israel: Sat May 2nd, 2009

Click refresh to see new updates during the day

Shavua tov, my friends. Here are more news updates than you poke a stick at (and get accused of using disproportionate force):

  • 3 more Israelis are suspected of contracting swine flu.
  • Gary Busey has been appointed Israel’s ambassador to the United States.
  • The Pope has dropped an ‘e’ – so to speak – and become the PoP (Pilgrim of Peace)
  • The Lebanese arrested a 55-year-old car salesman on suspicion of spying on behalf of Israel. Which just goes to show you can’t trust car salesmen.

Updates (Israel time; most recent at top)

9:44PM: The ISM, and other pro-palestinian “peace activists” (read: terror enablers) claim they are engaged in “non-violence,” and the mainstream media usually tows this line.

Now I am seeing some positive developments.

A Palestinian protester uses a sling to hurl rocks at Israeli security forces during a violent protest against the construction of the controversial Israeli separation barrier in the West Bank village of Bilin near Ramallah May 1, 2009. Israeli security forces fired dozens of tear gas canisters and rubber coated bullets against Palestinian protesters and Israeli and international peace activists. 9:34PM: Here is Israel’s ambassador-to-be to the United States, Michael Oren, talking about the Obama administration late last year.
