Shavua tov everyone.

The big news I missed while enjoying the Jewish Sabbath was something positive for a change: Israel beating the Russians to advance to the semi finals of the Davis Cup tennis tournament. The victory means we will face the terror appeasers of Spain or the terror appeasers of Germany in the next round. Either way, victory would be as sweet as honey mixed with sugar and maple syrup. In other words, damn sweet.

Other news occurred over the past 24 hours, but for now let me just feel the joy of victory.

Updates (Israel time; most recent at top)

9:42PM: The palestinian Ma’an News agency reports on a tragic car accident that occurred very close to where I live.

At least six were killed and two others seriously injured in a car accident, involving two private cars near the Israeli settlement of Beit Shemesh west of Jerusalem Friday evening, Israeli sources said.

A good friend of mine was one of the first at the scene, and later discovered some of the dead were his next door neighbors.

But the reason I am posting this report is the reference to Beit Shemesh as an Israeli “settlement.” Ma’an is confirming what I keep telling you: the palestinians view all Israeli cities as “settlements”, even those not in disputed territory.

9:22PM: The face is somewhat blurry but there’s no doubt this is our perennial protester with no patience for the IDF..or for the same hairstyle.
