I knew it wouldn't last long, IKEA would have gone bankrupt and Volvo would have to lay off to many workers, the Dockworkers realized pretty quick when their illegal strike, was met with no pay checks.

Meanwhile, back in Sweden, Muhammad wept as once again, his plans for global Shariah were once again dashed by the Zionist powers which he believes lurks everywhere...

No I think they thought it was the actual Temple and didnt want to destroy the original Temple.

I thought it was gold originally, then it was looted or fell apart. Actually, what we do know is that Israel facilitated repairs, right? That backs up the story that the land was a backwater s'hole until the Jews came and drained the swamps and made the desert bloom.

I knew it was somewhere or maybe Im thinking about the ark or the tabernacle...

That is the other problem though. Where is the altar? Isnt that what the "rock" is? Or maybe Im confusing things (as is often the case :p)

Yes, there was a hobbible earthquake in Tz'fat in the 1800's (?) that basical;ly destroyed the city. I have to tell you that hearing about the D.C. quake from my mother-in-law made me a bit nervous. But just a bit.

No, you couldn't figure out the instructions from Ezekial, but the idea is not to build a Third Temple, but another Second Temple. There is a volume of the mishna (basic part of the Talmud) which gives more-or-less a blueprint. And Maimonides has the minimum requirements. The problem is the dyes for the High Priest's garments. I know some claim they figured it out, but I'm a bit skeptical.

Actually, you don't need a Temple; just figure out where the altar was and bring sacrifices. But the above issue is still a problem.

I thought they turned it into a Church. You know, until relatively recently, the dome was slate grey. The current covering in anodized (with gold?) aluminum.

Im kind of unsure about building a Third Temple though. I just dont think it would be done correctly, even with the instructions provided (in the Tanakh I think?). Plus the other concerns about rebuilding it. Im not too concerned about sacrifices, just I feel we would be messing in an area we dont quite belong in yet.

On the other hand, it would be great to have it there.

You know it really is kind of a shame the Crusaders didnt destroy it. You are supposed to level the icon of a city when you conquer it. If they had, they mightve kept ahold of the city.

And then unfortunately the Mongols did not make it to Jerusalem. Or rather did not stay there long. Im not sure how clear the history is. Although I wonder if they would have sacked it, as they had a large Muslim contingent. Then again, they sacked Baghdad.

I always felt that the Arabs would one day shell Jerusalem, and accidentally destroy the two domes. One day I woke up and realized that we would just let them rebuild it.
