I largely agree with you, albeit you paint all of us on the Left with a very broad brush. Many on the Left look at the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict with blinders on. Just once I'd like to hear Finklestein or Chomsky go after terrorists like Hamas or Hezbollah and expose them for their Jew-hatred.

What, is this father xtian or something? This is a test of faith for him that he shouldn't seek revenge and love his enemy? I hope I am just misunderstanding what he is saying. I don't pretend to know what it's like to be in his shoes, but I do know that we shouldn't be elevating the idea that anger and revenge are not proper responses to these acts of war.

Let the Left clean out its own house first regarding Jew-hatred. Today’s Left is the ideological powerhouse of the new, acceptable, “enlightened” form of Jew-hatred, the one that comes in the form of anti-Zionism. Leftists don’t want Jews dead, oh no, no, no; they “only” express understanding when their Muslim allies do the dirty work (God forbid), and are ready to offer explanations of it all as “comeuppance,” or “the justice of roosting chickens.”

Well, Dave, Beck did have to publicly apologize for making a number of antisemitic remarks. That alone might give some the impression that Glenn Beck harbors hostile attitudes towards Jews. At a minimum, Beck reveals a complete lack of understanding of the basic tennants of Reform Judaism. It is offensive, even to me, a thick-skinned atheist of Irish descent. Happy St. Patrick's Day.
