Israellycool Forum Back Open For Business
Over here (or click on Forum above the Israellycool banner).
Yeah, I know. Been there, done that. When it comes to deciding whether or not to have a forum, I’ve had more flip-flops than John Kerry. But this time I’ve have decided to reopen the forum for business.
Why?
For a start, I have noticed some comment threads going way off topic, which I interpret as a healthy sign that you have things you would like to discuss, and have not found a place to do so. The forum can provide you with that place.
Secondly, I would like us all to get to know each other better and develop a better feeling of community. The forum includes a Community sub-forum for that very purpose.
Finally, it is way easier to use than the old forum plugin I used. For instance, you needn’t be a member – you can simply post using your Twitter or Facebook account.
Of course, what will ultimately decide on the success or failure of the revamped forum is you. If you find it useful, it will be a welcome addition to the Israellycool experience. If not, it will be relegated to the dustbin of history.

Have you and Carl ever considered doing a joint forum, leading in from both of your blogs? Like an RSS IC and IM blog post reader (feeding in together) with a forum branching from there?
I once entertained the notion of setting up a join site for pro-Israel bloggers, but my experience has been they are for the most part interested in developing their own sites. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
ReallyCool idea! <3
Gaia1010,
I know you are somewhat of a forumphile. I expect great things from you on this one
is there a way to login with intense debate?
Good question, but I think the answer is no unfortunately.
To Israelly Coolers: Below was sent to me. Has anyone seen this story elsewhere? JPL
Muhammed married a six year old bride. But Islam has evolved in 1500 years.
In Hamas land, in 2009, the brides are almost seven.
Mass Muslim Marriage in Gaza
450 Grooms Wed GIRLS Under Ten In Gaza

A gala event has occurred in Gaza
Hamas sponsored a mass wedding for four hundred and fifty couples.
Most of the grooms were in their mid to late twenties; most of brides were under ten.
Muslim dignitaries including Mahmud Zahar, a leader of Hamas, were on hand to congratulate the couples who took part in the carefully staged celebration.
We are saying to the world and to America that you cannot deny us joy and happiness, Zahar told the grooms, all of whom were dressed in identical black suits and hailed from the nearby Jabalia refugee camp.
Each groom received a gift of 500 dollars from Hamas.
The pre-pubescent girls, dressed in white gowns and adorned with garish make-up, received bridal bouquets.
We are presenting this wedding as a gift to our people who stood firm in the face of the siege and the war, local Hamas strongman Ibrahim Salaf said in a speech.
The wedding photos tell the rest of the sordid tale.
The International Centre for Research on Women estimates that there are 51 million child brides now living on planet earth and almost all in Muslim countries.
Twenty-nine percent of these child brides are regularly beaten and molested by their husbands in Egypt; twenty six percent receive similar abuse in Jordan.
Every year, three million Muslim girls are subjected to genital mutilation, according to UNICEF.
This practice has not been outlawed in many parts of America.
I really know nothing about weddings but genital mutilation is rampant in Egypt and North Africa. It was among the Israeli beduins until the Israelis put a stop to it .
This was discussed here a while ago. I think they were bridesmaids. Personally, I think attacks on child marriage are anachronistic. Different societies require different marriage ages.
I since googled this story and see several articles debunking it.
Actually, my experience is that we get to know each other TOO well over here.
