Great ending line for today's LATMA. An Israeli farmer is holding up some cucumbers, and saying (in english), "How's that boycott going for you, Europe?"
There's a nice documentary on Palestinian prehistory. English part not up yet.
For those racers out there, is appears that the head of "Peace Now" (war tomorrow) said that Netanyahu wouldn't have spoken to Obama the way he did if he was rich and white. LATMA's resopnse was that he speaks from experience, as Peace Now is heavily funded by the rich white men of the European Community. Of course, Obama is a millionaire, and Netantayu makes even less than I do (and I can't afford a car).
(One the day Bin Ladin was killed, the word "deather" was immediately coined. So Tony Katz of PJTV came up with the word "racer", for those who think that opposition to Obama is mainly due to his race.)
People in glass houses like Peace Now need to watch the racism accusations http://dilbert.com/dyn/str_strip/000000000/000000…
Of course Cornell West can get away with it
“He feels most comfortable with upper middle-class white and Jewish men who consider themselves very smart, very savvy and very effective in getting what they want,” http://pajamasmedia.com/tatler/2011/05/19/cornell…
A Code Pink idiot gets slammed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcWV5f7OCnE#t=3m
I once tried to read one of West's books, Race Matters. He was discussing sometthing I know something about, the NYC teacher's strike of my childhood. After reading his selective acccount, I literally threw the book back onto the store shelf. Luckily, for once in my life I had good aim.
A lot of these guys are scam artists. If you can get Paul Johnson's "Intellectuals", take a look at the last chapter. (Better yet, read the whole thing.
)
I don't know if this is the event you're talking about, but I remember an episode from the PBS series "Eyes on the Prize" about the civil rights events in America dealing with a local mostly black school board opposing a nearly all white (mostly Jewish) staff in a NYC school district. The conflict was quite ugly with a strong element of anti-semitism at play. Sadly, there didn't seem to be any winners or clear-cut villians. I'd like an update to see things are now some 30-40 years later.
Good video, thanks again Dave.
OMG more of the "comic" http://elderofziyon.blogspot.com/2011/06/anti-sem…
I just saw Klavan's video on another site. I came here to send the link to you, but you already have it!
Please remember that it's only the current president that is anti-Isreal. Most Americans are pro-Israel.
And most Israelis are pro-American, even more so than Americans are pro-Israel.
And for the moment, at least we have Canada.
I have long advocated this, namely that the Jews of any Middle Eastern country had the right to rise up agaisnt their oppressors and take the country over; we just happened to take the one we used to live in.
For example, last night they were mentioning a story they heard from a Jew who said that in Algeria, he never used the sidewalk, because a Moslem could just reach out and stab him, throw the body in the street, and no-one would say a word.
Oh, and I love when people mention Maimonides as an example of Jewish-Muslim replations. He ran for his life from Muslims who were killing ever single Jews and Christian in Spain and North Africa who woudl not convert. Not that his position with the Caliph was that wonderful either, contrary to the usual whitewashing – but he did always believe in the dignity of labor, so perhaps that part he was fine with.
