BDS Fail Of The Day

Just the usual assortment of oddballs, some of whom could benefit from gender reassignment surgery or a support bra, but all of whom could benefit from plastic surgery, singing lessons, and a history lesson.

As misguided as these folks are, this is serious business. Targeting institutional investors and the largest service provider in TIAA-CREF can have a significant impact to Israel's well-being. Jewish Voices for Peace has convinced the American Friends Service Committee to direct TIAA-CREF to move all of its investments away from companies perceived as supporting Israel. Hundreds of billions of public workers' retirement funds are invested through TIAA-CREF. This is serious business.
if they want to hurt worker’s pensions…so be it
they will get the rest of america to hate them
The AFSC (Quaker) was anti-Israel before it was fashionable.
Jim
to direct TIAA-CREF to move all of its investments away from companies perceived as supporting Israel
Not quite, Jim.
Those companies profiting from the occupied territories only.
the bdsers have made their goals quite clear
just as the friday protests in bilin have not stopped despite the fence being moved…bds will continue until israel as we know it is no more
for they…and you…hate the jew
which you proved with your most recent post on dickie’s site where you supported a blood libel that israel was bombing gaza because of the flotilla
Walt,
I don't know if you're just saying this so you can have an excuse to continue the occupation, or if you genuinely believe it. If the latter, then you are out of touch with reality, and need some help. There are better ways to ensure "Israel is no more" than leading divestment campaigns if that was their goal.
In a letter, that the Chairman of AFSC wrote to TIAA-CREF, his exact words were:
"urges you to refrain from investing in any company that contributes to perpetuating the Israeli military occupation of the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem, provides products or services to Israeli settlements, or provides products or services that enable violent acts that target civilians."
If the occupation ends, nobody would be supporting any divestment moves, which are targeted towards the occupied territories, not Israel proper.

It appears that you have reading comprehension problems, but in any case, what goes on at "Dickie's site" should be addressed there, not here. I don't understand your proclivity of cross posting comments and discussions from one website to another.
Unless Dave disagrees, he can post whatever he likes.
Military occupation of the Gaza Strip?
"If the occupation ends", there will nothing to boycott, because Israel will soon cease to exist.
look dear…there is no occupation…never has been
what country is israel occupying?
maybe syria…but even that i can argue
definitely not palestine…doesnt exist
never existed…and the way things are going…never will
have you watched adam shapiro’s vid yet?
here…watch
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okx5NwxAXVI
its quite clear that he is talking about all of israel…not just the west bank and gaza
they didnt stop when israel pulled out of gaza…they wont stop if israel leaves the west bank and the golan heights…they wont stop until there is no israel
well you can tell adam, the rest of his band of terrorists, max, the mondoweis crowd, and every other jew hating bastard on the planet…IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN
They moved the fence there? That's a bit of concern to me, because I've been given an offer to build in Matityahu.
What Walt said. I have presented a treasure trove of evidence that when the BDSers talk of occupation, they mean all of Israel. "From the river to the sea." Let's not kid ourselves.
I'm more interested in her implication that she doesn't consider Haifa occupied.
My morning is complete. Why don't people start throwing coins at them.
Actually what good would it do if they sell their shares? Someone else will buy them and then they would have no authority to put resolutions on an agenda for the annual meeting or get in the ear of a member of the board of directors. By being a stockholder, they are owners. Now if they are able to stop funding of start ups, reak havoc in banking relationships or the like, that is a different matter. Right now I am surprised they can get up and use the toilet properly.
[...] and take the time to campaign against them, pressure Israeli companies to not support the IDF, and make poorly executed choreographed dances with catchy tunes. (I was humming “Stop buying Sabra and Tribe, don’t support Israeli apartheid” to myself for [...]
