       Although, I/we never finished checking them all.

       Regarding this list… I seriously wonder why the Israeli gov is not explaining for what these people got convicted.
       Or point out to us where we could retrieve this info.
       Now you only see lists after lists… without any background info. If you search on some of the names, you’ll notice that there had been complaints about “hard conditions in prison” or “the one convicted for so and so long”, but never a reason as for why they were in prison in the first place. Even though I do not believe in medieval prison systems such as the ones you can find in some places of the world (Eritrea, e.g.), I cannot help but feel a “don’t care about harsh conditions if the person is a murderer of innocent people”, which I would feel if the person is an ordinary pocket thief.

       Thus, by not explaining for what these people got convicted, the ordinary man or woman on the street might believe that Israel is releasing ordinary pocket thieves and pebble throwers – even though that is not really the case.

         I agree with your incredulity regarding the Israeli government’s lack of explanations on the terrorists’ deeds. The idea behind this post was to get this missing info out there.

          This is not what history has shown us.

          You do realize how serious this is – I am talking about waking up tomorrow and finding out that one of these “people” has killed one of my relatives, heaven forbid. Or the next soldier has been kidnapped (heaven forbid), and here we go again. This is what history shows us, and this is what I, personally, have to live with.

          (I’ve had the privilege of speaking to the father of a kidnapped soldier, an American citizen in fact. He never gave up on his son (although the government has), nor did he believe in giving away the store (all of this from a mutual friend)).

          But I’m glad you gave Netanyahu a vote of confidence.
