I heard that Mr.Clay had suffered a debilitating brain condition that has severely impeded his lifestyle.

But, having gone through his antecedents, I don’t think that he has suffered on the intellectual front.He was and remains, well er………., a strong practitioner of conserving his faculty of thought for another day.

jim greetings,it’s good to hear your voice in reply to me.
it’s not the point of lies the brave american people who went to v/n had no idea at the time of their goverments plans,without going into detail i met/know for many years a v/n vet a copter pilot/medi vac who did/has told me mant things about that conflict ,also the huge amount of money/drugs envolved and the way in which he was treated on his return by the people in the street and the let down by the country for you/other poor brave fighters,also the fight to get his full payments/pensions
he infact has two houses on i think it’s spelt mowie iv’e seen the pictures when he has visited but i have not been there another place ruined by heavy drugs his father at the time a police officer owned/now his a house on an island where a famous detective series was filmed but without his contact or permission i shall not name my vet friend.
i understand your comment but i’m sorry if you go, i go, no excuses ,or infact excuses after the facts are nkown.
a coward is a coward,he did not know what the u.s.a.was up to or how vets would be treated on return he saved his own skin first while other men young/old went to fight some-one in his place,men have in all countries lied about their age to gain entry to defend their land this person i hesitate to call him a man dug in at home safe and sound.

I wish things were that simple, Solomon. I myself served in Vietnam and now believe like most of my countrymen that the war was a big mistake. This was another example of our political leadership lying to its citizens to go into war under false pretenses. We were told we were defending South Vietnam’s democracy but instead got involved in a protracted civil war for self determination and unification of the Vietnamese people. There’s always time to go to war. Courageous people fight to keep their country at peace.

when it came to the real hand to hand he did what all the cowards do hid behind women and children who’s fathers/husbands/loved ones, did go to defend and keep the word of the u.s.a.
they used to execute cowards infact brave men in many army’s have been put to death/branded cowards when infact they had shell shock/other battle related problems.
but of course the cowards normally push every-body else in front of them,radical islam is well known for it world-wide,send any-body but dont go your-self.

When America went to Vietnam they did so to honour promises they had made to the government of Vietnam regarding protecting them from communist incursion.

There was no bravery in objecting whilst your peers went and fought in intolerable conditions.

The Communists were brutal and make no mistake were certainly not ‘for the people’. The fact that the south Vietnamese weren’t exactly loveable doesn’t matter because at least the people had the chance of improving their lives through democratic means. All the ‘conscientious objectors’ did was condemn the people of Vietnam to an unaccountable tyrannical system.

Ali’s ‘opposition’ to the South African government is no great plus point either because he has never condemned the equally despicable and equally racist ANC that took that nation and turned it into a crime ridden hell hole.

In fairness, there are points in Muhammad Ali’s favor, as well. He opposed the Vietnam War as a conscientious objector. He was an outspoken opponent of the racist South African government. And he threatened to publicly remove sportscaster Howard Cossell’s hairpiece on national television.
