Purim In Tel Aviv, 1932

Fascinating footage from the early thirties.

Notice the thriving Jewish life in pre-1948 Israel (which is sure to send the anti-Israel crowd into conniptions), as well as the real awareness of Nazism in its early days.

Thanks for the history lesson. I wonder what Purim is like in Tel Aviv now. Have the costumes been sexed up like we have in the U.S. on Halloween?

Tel Aviv has become nothing but vulgar – not just on Purim.

What exactly is your complaint? The way Israelis celebrate Purim is not strictly Torah-based no matter where they do it, right? What does dressing up like Spiderman or dancing around a float featuring Homer Simpson have to do with Queen Esther, anyway? Have a little fun in life, Shy Guy.
