What a lousy way to gain publicity (for the newspaper of course!) I can't believe that a newspaper is giving a job to a person who's just a basketball fan to write professionally. The media in Israel is such a sell-out! Nothing against Gilad, I'm happy he found a job, but I'm not sure the reason he got was because of his writing skills. Joe the Plumber was the vehicle through which Obama’s “redistribute the wealth” philosophy was brought to the public. Btw JtP was not a fan of McCain’s (and neither am I).

In the blogoshphere, being a benevolent dictator works pretty well (you’d get my vote). But in politics, the people decide who they want. You don’t like Noam Shalit’s politics, I don’t like Joe the Plumber’s. But they still get to run for public office in our respective democracies. I don’t know what Noam Shalit’s chances are, but Joe the Plumber beating Marcy Kaptur in her Cleveland, OH district are as likely as me being elected to the College of Cardinals.
