I would be for Muslim FMG if they also did a hysterectomy along with it. That way, there would be no more FMGs in a generation’s time and 1400+ years of butchery would come to an end.

I just had a horrible, massive, nasty discussion on my facebook page about Female Genital Mutilation.

After it veered unfailingly onto male infant circumcision for about 200 posts, despite my repeated attempts to redirect it, we actually got someone finally breaking ranks and standing up for forced clitorectomy, removal of both inner and outer labia, and the sewing up of the vaginal entrance. I blew my top. I was then called a cultural imperialist.

This isn’t strictly relevant, I guess, but it has upset me a great deal, and left me wondering what the fuck is wrong with people.

Am I howling alone in the wilderness? I’m the racist – because I think little brown girls’ clitorises are as important as little pink girls’ clitorises? Seriously?

And I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes…she is just a kid, maybe she was forced to participate.
