I have to concur with the resentment perception. For some reason people feel resentment against a tech firm “cornering” the market with a better product, and do not resent the oil cartel racking in trillions and financing terror with billions. Fast chargers will be relevant when batteries are replaced by mega-capacitors, science fiction at this time. All we can do is wait for reality to set in when the Gulf closes down, gas prices triple, only then will people change their mind. Good post, and happy driving of the ZE

Someone once commented (apropos nuclear power, in the late ’60′s) that anything is viable as a power source, including imported Swedish hardwood, if heavily enough subsidised.

This applies to a LOT of “alternative energy” and “green cars” (although, if Brian is correct, not to Better Place electric cars.)

Your point about your reluctance to take public transportation because of the presence of smelly people reminded of my days riding the Washington Metro subway system. My experience tells me that I have a strong preference for b.o. over heavilly-applied cheap perfume or cologne. Ever smell an overpowering application of Hai Karate early in the morning?
