While Silverstein may be a tempting target for jest, let’s not lose focus of the fact that he is a tireless generator of libel and hatred against the Jews — and his rantings are taken seriously, widely read and reproduced.
In his September 24th post, he claims to deplore the You Tube-inspired widespread rioting and killing by Muslims, yet he essentially defends it — by verbally attacking Jews.
“Biblical history tells of the extermination of various tribes like the … Moabites” says revisionist historian and Biblical “expert” Silverstein — despite the fact that Jews did not ever wage a war of extermination against Moabites, who disappeared from the historical record sometime during the Persian period (Wikipedia).
Nauseatingly, Silverstein continues: “In latter-day Israel, a virulent variant of Judaism known as settlerism engages in acts of violence against Jews and non-Jews alike who question Jewish supremacism in the so-called Jewish state. This Jewish Rage takes the form of violent pogroms, killings, arson, and sexual assaults that are no less primitive than anything we saw in Libya.”
Leave it to Richard to turn Muslim violence and murders around the world over a ridiculous You Tube video into a springboard to unleash his latest screed against Jews. Unfortunately, his hate-filled posts are read and disseminated all too eagerly by too many people.
Agreed. That is why I lead from the front when it comes to exposing his lies, half-truths and sloppy fact-checking.
