Reuters Bias Of The Day

Israeli policemen look at a Palestinian boy walking towards the entrance of the compound which houses al-Aqsa mosque, known to Muslims as Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as Temple Mount, in Jerusalem’s Old City October 5, 2012. Israeli police hurled stun grenades to disperse dozens of protesters who threw stones outside the mosque, Islam’s third holiest site, after Friday prayers. Tensions flared this week at the site after police arrested Israeli ultranationalists who tried to hold prayers at the compound revered by Jews as well as Muslims. REUTERS/Ronen Zvulun

Notice how the caption writer begins with the hurling of stun grenades by IDF soldiers, even though this was in response to Muslims hurling stones at the IDF. There is also the implication that the stone throwing was the result of “Israeli ultranationalists” trying to hold prayers days before. And notice how despite the implication of IDF aggression, the soldiers in the photo are clearly looking peacefully – if not fondly – at the young boy, with one seemingly patting him.

Bonus bias points for the mention of the mosque being “Islam’s third holiest site”, with no mention of the site being Judaism’s holiest site.

But think about it for a second. How holy is this site really to these Muslim worshipers if they are more than willing to throw stones at it (let alone do other mundane activities such as playing soccer)?

Reuters, you are getting so predictable.

I hope you will report more on Reuters as long it keeps up the bias/deceit/distortion.

I miss Reuters Middle East Watch very much and don’t know why it ceased some months ago.

If Jews can’t pray there can we bring bacon and throw it at the dome?
