Brown is a strong and misleading term. Todays Arabs are barely brown. Meanwhile, the Sultan of Oman might as well be African.

The point is they believe in a “Black Moses”. Of course, it is clear from the mishnah (negaim, to start) that our ansestors were mostly brown-skinned Caucasians, but could be of any race. (reference on request)

Tectonically speaking, I believe that the Sinai, Israel and Lebanon form a distinct plate whose eastern fault line is the Arava, the Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley and the Bekaa Valley, and this fault line is why Israel just held a major earthquake drill. However, many of the plants and wildlife of the Negev are common to East Africa.
