Fountainpen?!!? A fountainpen doesn’t sound emblementic of the over-the-top celebration and gift-giving of the modern bar mitzvah parties I’ve heard taking place in North America. Or is this just another urban legend?

54 years ago, a fountain pen was about right. Today’s bar mitzvah parties keep lots of itinerant DJs in business.
