Addtionally, there are other opinions; there was an article in the RJJ journal a while back (available on yutorah.edu) that took an extreme position that since we cannot fight a formal war today (Ron Paul take note! :-) ), we have to fall back on the rules of personal self-defense, which would rather limit what we could do.
