Stevie’s No Wonder After All

Last week, I reported how Stevie Wonder was set to perform at the annual gala of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) organization. I opined this was sure to piss off the BDSHoles, and I was correct.

What I did not anticipate was Wonder’s capitulation to them.

Veteran singer and United Nations Messenger of Peace Stevie Wonder has canceled a planned performance for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces after several organizations asked him not to perform.

The soul singer, 62, was scheduled to sing at a Dec. 6 fundraising gala in Los Angeles hosted by the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), an organization set up to help those serving in the Israel Defense Forces and families of fallen soldiers.

“Given the current and very delicate situation in the Middle East, and with a heart that has always cried out for world unity, I will not be performing at the FIDF Gala,” Wonder said in a statement sent to Reuters by his spokeswoman.

Wonder said he would make contributions to organizations that support Israeli and Palestinian children with disabilities.

The singer added that as a Messenger of Peace, a title he’s held since 2009, “I am and have always been against war, any war, anywhere.”

According to a statement from the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, a coalition that aims to change U.S. policy toward Palestine and Israel and support human rights and equality, Wonder’s decision came after a “growing outcry” from several organizations and three international signed petitions.

The protest is part of a “cultural boycott” led by organizations that oppose Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, the statement said.

So Stevie Wonder, not such a friend of Israel after all.

Stevie truly is blind..to the truth.

  1. the “international” petitions were all online jokes…i signed 1 as osama bin laden, with the note…DEATH TO THE IMPERIALIST JOOO…its still there

since wonder is against all war, does that mean he wont do a benefit for american troops? of course not

and did anyone tell him that 99 percent of the disabilities faced by arab children are as the result of the inbreeding their culture demands? of course not

    1. What does Stevie Wonder’s race have to do with this? I think he made the wrong choice under political pressure, but I don’t see how being an African-American enters into this discussion at all.

    2. Why is everyone surprised about this, just look at what white immigrants to israel are doing to black immigrants! both immigrants but one main difference, jeez they even torched a black nursery, ethnic cleansing is disgusting, but im would have thought jews understood this, but i guess israel lacks jews, and breeds zionists who now nothing of jewish struggles!!

      1. So, are you saying that Ashkenazi Jews living in Israel are generally racist in attitude? If so, that is quite offensive and impossible for you to defend with facts. Back it up or shut the hell up.

  2. When you say “here” do you mean Israel? I take that as your meaning and I take it you are not an American, since you don’t seem to have much appreciation for or an understanding of the African-American experience. But as Dave said, why bring race into this discussion?

  3. In case anyone misses this, “Friends of the IDF” is like the American USO, arranging help for soldiers, especially those who don’t have family here. Here it’s called “Agudah L’ma’an Hachayal”.
