48 Ways To Whitewash Fatah Terrorism

Fatah 48 celebrations

The mainstream media has a new-old moderate Arab pet: Fatah. The terrorist group headed by previous moderate Arab pet Mahmoud Abbas. Some even go so far as to play up the contrast between Fatah and Hamas, the former being moderate and pragmatic, while the latter Islamist and extremist.

As we mentioned here yesterday, Fatah is not celebrating 48 years since it’s founding in 1959. It’s celebrating 48 years since it’s first act of terrorism against Israel.

This little fact was omitted by some of your favourite news sites, like CNN, AP and Reuters, who instead chose to publish a lie.

CNN:

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians gathered in Gaza in a show of support for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah Party on Friday, the 48th anniversary of the party’s founding.

Overnight, throngs had camped out in a downtown Gaza square to ensure themselves a spot for the anniversary commemoration of Fatah’s 1965 founding, and tens of thousands marched early Friday carrying Fatah banners. When the rally began, people stampeded to the stage to try to shake leaders’ hands.

The BBC has also tidied up the Fatah dirt, and while AFP did state what anniversary they were celebrating, they listed it in the penultimate sentence of the article. Obviously this terrorist act is described with the sanitised term “operation”:

The anniversary commemorates the first operation against Israel claimed by Fatah’s armed wing, then known as Al-Assifa (The Thunderstorm in Arabic), on January 1, 1965.

Once again “professional” journalists fail basic fact checking, that even a simple Wikipedia search would have set straight.

And for those of you who don’t like to use Wikipedia as a source, even the PIWP affirms that fact.

Event #527 First military operation by Fatah in Palestine
Date: Friday, 1 Jan 1965

An attack by the Al ‘Asifa military wing of Fatah on the Israeli national water carrier in Galilee marks the beginning of the Palestinian revolution.

It seems, though, one fact was completely overlooked by the media. In 1965, the “Palestine” Fatah wanted to liberate was not Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, occupied at that time by Jordan and Egypt respectively, but the Palestine “occupied” by Israel.

So what exactly was that Fatah original sin? It was an act of terrorism: trying to sabotage Israel’s national water aqueduct.

Three terrorists infiltrated from Jordan and placed an explosive device on one of the main pipelines of the national water carrier. The device failed to detonate and was discovered by passing border police forces. The terrorists escaped back to Jordan and were spotted by Jordanian soldiers who opened fire on them. In the ensuing fire-fight, two Fatah members were killed and a third escaped into Jordan.

Fatah is celebrating a failed act of terror and fratricide by their own Arab brethren. And remember, hundreds of thousands (then) of Israeli Arabs drank from the same water sources as the Jews of Israel.

And it wasn’t just any attempted act of terror, but a bona fide war crime:

Protocol I, Article 54, of the Geneva convention: “Protection of objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population”

  • It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as foodstuffs, agricultural areas for the production of foodstuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies and irrigation works, for the specific purpose of denying them for their sustenance value to the civilian population or to the adverse Party, whatever the motive, whether in order to starve out civilians, to cause them to move away. or for any other motive.

Not only is the mainstream media covering up Fatah’s current genocidal charter in clouds of “moderation”, they are also whitewashing Fatah’s terrorist background, terror and war crimes.

fatah emblemLet me break it to you gently, Fatah is just as bad an Arab terrorist organization as any. It is based on principles of terrorism, Jihad, genocide and nationalism.

From Fatah’s charter:

Article (5) Liberating Palestine is a national obligation which necessitates the materialistic and human support of the Arab Nation.

Article (8) The Israeli existence in Palestine is a Zionist invasion with a colonial expansive base, and it is a natural ally
to colonialism and international imperialism.

Article (12) Complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence.

Article (17) Armed public revolution is the inevitable method to liberating Palestine.

Article (19) Armed struggle is a strategy and not a tactic, and the Palestinian Arab People’s armed revolution is a decisive factor in the liberation fight and in uprooting the Zionist existence, and this struggle will not cease unless the Zionist state is demolished and Palestine is completely liberated.

Article (22) Opposing any political solution offered as an alternative to demolishing the Zionist occupation in Palestine, as well as any project intended to liquidate the Palestinian case or impose any international mandate on its people.

Article (26) Avoiding attempts to exploit the Palestinian case in any Arab or international problems and considering the case above all contentions.

As you can see, Fatah is not really about dialogue and peace, and a clear spoiler is their banner, sporting two rifles, a grenade, and the outline of the whole of Israel. Even the name Fatah is a reverse acronym of Palestine liberation movement. And lest we forget the US and others designated terrorist group, al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, which rose out of Fatah at the onset of the 2nd Intifada.

And these are our “peace partners”. Nice.

Update: The Guardian doesn’t know 2nd grade math:

  1. What’s galling is that Fatah and PA are not even trying to cover this up. They don’t even need to lie. They know, as Hitler did, that if they make their intentions of “getting rid of the Jews” known, no one will protest too much, as long as they don’t need to get their hands dirty.
There is so much blatant, breathtaking hypocrisy….. Here are two obvious examples: Abbas referred to 1948 as Naqba several times in his UN speech and spoke of the urgent need to reverse the “catastrophe”. He then referred to the 1967 borders. No one even questioned him why the Palestenian people did not seek to do something about their catastrophe for 19 years . (Wait, they did, they are celebrating it now.) If the question of statehood is hinging on Palestine within exactly 1967 borders, then why constantly refer to 1948 Naqba? To my simple mind that would be because it’s the 1948 borders that they would really like to appropriate.
Secondly, all this fuss about approval for settlements, area E1, etc. The US, Britain (not even mentioning the rest) are dressing down the Israeli ambassadors, even threatening sanctions apparently. E1 is the obstacle to peace we’re told, because it would make a contiguous Palestenian state in the West Bank impossible (later admitted to be inconvenient but not impossible). Yeah, well you know what really does get in the way of the contiguousness of a potential Palestenian state along 67 borders (ie Golan, West Bank, Gaza)? Yep, all of Israel.

  2. You don’t need to be coy, Roy, just listen to me. Were you playing off of Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover?” Paul Simon — he ain’t as ’80’s as Bananarama, but he still holds up. When dealing with the Palestinians, I’d still advise Bibi to make a new plan, Stan.

  3. doesnt the very act of celebrating an act of terror negate the entire oslo accord?

tear up that piece of worthless paper…march into the west bank and gaza and either expel or kill all the arab scum

its war…time to stop playing footsie with your enemies

    1. The act of celebrating past terror does not itself negate the Oslo accord, but the continued threats of further terror and a third intifada, and the act of supporting the actions of Hamas (only as far as the war on Israel) as Abbas clearly did at the UN, and going to UN unilaterally. However, of all the ways that the Oslo accords have been trampled on, it’s the approved future building on a barren sliver of land, that seems to be a problem for the “world”
