..not because of the undead, but because it is pro-Israel!
The recently released zombie apocalypse film World War Z has received widespread attention — much of it in the form of 140-character reviews on Twitter.
In the movie, an Israeli intelligence officer explains that his country built a barrier to keep zombies out. Many online drew parallels between the fictitious barrier and the separation wall that Israel built in the West Bank, which was declared illegal by the International Court of Justice.
Rania Khalek tweets: “In World War Z, Israel’s apartheid wall apparently helps keep out a massive horde of zombies.”In World War Z, Israel’s apartheid wall apparently helps keep out a massive horde of zombies…not cool pic.twitter.com/taulJNp1bK

Some criticised what they saw as the movie’s attempt to justify current Israeli policies in the Palestinian territories: https://twitter.com/MissSoz/statuses/348698702510182400
Other critics poked fun at Israel’s embrace of the Palestinian population in the movie:Forget the zombies, the most unrealistic thing about World War Z was when Israel was inviting in displaced Palestinians

Israellycool‘s Judge Dan says it well (and is quoted in the Al Jizz article for his trouble):
it’s hilarious when people say that World War Z is fake bc of how Israel is portrayed, and not bc of, you know, zombies.

Update: Here is an anti-Israel zombie movie, just for balance.
The Z is “Zionism,” apparently.
Palestinians should worry less about a Zombie movie and more about Palestinian on Palestinian violence – the killing and torturing of Palestinian moderates, honor killings, gender apartheid, etc. etc.
‘Forget the zombies, the most unrealistic thing about World War Z was when Israel was inviting in displaced Palestinians.’
This occurred in the original book, owing to the Israeli government not wanting anyone outside the wall to become infected (and exacerbate the growth of the Zombie plague), and also so that they could contribute to the defence of the besieged (!) country as a whole. The conceit was that pragmatic Palestinians would have accepted the invitation, and left the ideologues to refuse and become zombie grub. I suggest the anti-Israel crowd take this up with Max Brooks.
Actually, what the hell – *it’s a zombie story*.
wonder if brooks is peeved re how many havent read the book
in book, first israel gives up the entire west bank to focus on israel proper…there is a civil war between observant and non observant jews
then israel makes peace with the arabs and the name of israel is changed to unified palestine…and everyone sits around singing kumbaya while they are shooting zombies
i love fantasy
It’s funny because The Guardian and the BBC have spent 30 years screaming that Jews are the brain eating zombies which must be destroyed. Apparently, while we’re fascist communist warmonger government controlling international bankers who beg money from everyone and are at the heart of a 2000 year old global plot that everyone on the planet already knows about we’re also on both sides of this zombie thing too.
Avinash Tharoor whose tweet is featured above is the son of Shashi Tharoor -former Under-Secretary General at the UN and currently a cabinet minister in India.Apparently, he takes after his father when it comes to his views on Islamofascism. The following link is a youtube video of the senior Tharoor’s debate with late Christopher Hitchens where Hitch offers Tharoor a masterclass on freedom of speech.
i wonder what the world would be like if so many people weren’t obsessed with Israel
or zombies
Hey, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’re all turning gay over here in America. You don’t believe me? Watch the trailer “World War G” on Funny or Die.
