The Maccabiah Games, known as the “Jewish Olympics”, begins this week. And it has attracted some very impressive talent.
Like 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist gymnast Aly Raisman: (hat tip: Raphael)
And 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Garrett Weber-Gale, who is already here and tweeting his head off:

Meanwhile, I wonder if the Wooden Ones will be back this year.
I have family taking part in the competitions this year! They’re from Down Under. I didn’t know, till this year, that I had relatives in Oz 🙂
If the regular sportscasters are too staid, they should import Andres Cantor from Argentina to cover soccer and Marv Albert from the U.S. to call the basketball games.
games start after tisha b’av right?
nice that raisman is going….wasnt her family also offered a free trip?
