So this morning it appears that the Obama Administration has secretly changed the position it didn’t have to a new position that it didn’t have. They’re changing position like it’s a bad sex tape for Ha’aretz.

This happened (Times of Israel):

The US government has reportedly temporarily suspended aid to the military-backed interim Egyptian government, a US senator told the Daily Beast on Monday night.

Washington has refrained from calling the July 3 ouster of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi a coup but has nevertheless secretly decided to temporarily halt aid, without publicly announcing it.

“The decision was we’re going to avoid saying it was a coup, but to stay on the safe side of the law, we are going to act as if the designation has been made for now,” the Daily Beast quoted one administration official as saying. “By not announcing the decision, it gives the administration the flexibility to reverse it.”

Let us remind ourselves of the verbal gymnastics the Obama administration forced spokesperson Psaki to jump through in order not to decide if overthrowing the Muslim Brotherhood was a coup or not:

Obama: Your Bitch is our Dictator
Obama: Your Bitch is our Dictator

Its becoming harder to believe this administration wasn’t rooting for the Muslim Brotherhood all along. They’re doing everything possible to help them at every turn. The Muslim Brotherhood supporters being killed are certainly giving as good as they get. They’re killing Egyptian military and police in large numbers. This is not an unarmed uprising being quelled with a heavy hand.

But it’s very important to note: military aid to Egypt isn’t a gift. It’s a massive, backhand, government subsidy to the US armaments industry. The money “given” in aid is largely money that must be used to buy weapons from US companies. Let’s see what effect this secret suspension has on the stocks of the major defence companies.

  1. the admin is following the law

when morsi won the election, the admin could not suspend aide

when the military took control, they did not suspend aide

but now that the military is shooting people in the streets…even if they be islamists, an independent exam must be made to determine if an actual coup did take place…which would lead to the permanent suspension of all aide, until a civilian government takes its place

prob is…it doesnt matter…the military controls egypt…no matter what
