Behind Every Cloud An Angry Israeli

Poor John Kerry had his tenth little visit to Israel all messed up by angry Israelis. You’d think they’d be grateful. All those hours flying back and forth but do you think they appreciate his efforts?

No.

Instead they are moaning about the release of so-called “terrorists.”

The release of long-term Palestinian prisoners jailed for “terrorism” triggered an angry Israeli backlash on Tuesday that threatened to overshadow the expected arrival of John Kerry, the US secretary of state, to begin talks on a proposed “framework” peace agreement.

One would think the Israelis, of all people, would understand that letting murderers out of jail will bring them peace. But they just don’t get it. They don’t know their own best interests.

After all, it’s not like the release of those Taliban forces in Afghanistan that killed and maimed U.S. and U.K. coalition troops. Now there, you have something to talk about. Those are “dangerous militants!”

To the fury of the UK, the US and victims’ families, President Hamid Karzai has freed 88 dangerous militants from a jail at Bagram, the former US air base run by the Afghan government.

The US wants them to be prosecuted and says 30 per cent carried out direct attacks that killed or wounded 60 coalition troops, and 40 per cent killed 57 Afghans, including police and security forces.

How can you even compare that to say, the Israeli release of Palestinian freedom fighters like Abu Muhsan Khaled Ibrahim Jamal? What did he even do?

Abu Muhsan Khaled Ibrahim Jamal (born 1971, member of Fatah) was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Shlomo Yehia in 1991.

Shlomo Yehia was born in 1915 in Yemen and immigrated to Israel in Operation Magic Carpet. He settled in Moshav Kadima where he worked as a gardener even after reaching retirement age. On September 26, 1991, he went out to work as usual and was stabbed to death in a public park. Shlomo was 76 years old at the time of his death and was survived by his wife and six children.

Pshaw. Pish tosh.

I wonder if anybody in the UK knows or cares about the names of those being released in Afghanistan. I wonder if they know the people they killed. I wonder if they know their surviving children, husbands, wives and parents.

Asher Yonatan Palmer
Asher Palmer and his son Yonatan were murdered. Will their killers someday be freed because of U.S. demands?

It is no exaggeration to say that EVERYONE in Israel knows someone who has lost someone close to them.
