Al Jizz TV Host Pushes Pro-Israel Meme

In perhaps a sign more people in the Arab and Muslim world are seeing the world’s double standards when it comes to Israel, Al Jazeera TV host, Dr. Faisal Al-Qassem, posted this pro-Israel meme on his Facebook page yesterday, with the following comment:

Or for the Arabically-challenged.

Imagine: Israel is jealous of the preferential treatment received by the Assad regime from the international community: How do you boycott our goods, and incite universities against us, and you send fleets to lift the siege on Gaza, while suffering 15 percent of children are obese from eating too much. In Syria, Assad has killed more than 120 000 Syrians, and made millions homeless, with no one calling for a boycott, or the mobilization of international universities against his regime, and no one sends ships to lift the blockade on the besieged areas of Syria. Imagine: Even Israel is jealous of this international complicity with Assad.

  1. I respectfully disagree that it’s “pushing a pro-Israel meme.” I’m afraid that it is, rather, saying that its enemies are “even worse than Israel”–a rather different proposition.

    1. I’m now modifying my comment, having read the updates that EoZ posted, including two items translated by MEMRI. While this guy can’t be described as pro-Israel by any means, he nevertheless clearly sees that Israel has caused far less death and destruction than its neighbors.

However, the comments, as far as I can tell from the auto-translation, are another matter entirely.
