http://youtu.be/MQL869wP0gE

THIS IS PALESTINE seems to be about “Building a positive national brand through art and design”

IN TODAY’S WORLD, YOUR DOLLAR IS YOUR VOICE. THIS IS A CHANCE TO CHAMPION THE CAUSES YOU BELIEVE IN. THIS PAGE ALLOWS YOU TO CONTRIBUTE FINANCIALLY TO HELP IMPROVE THE PALESTINIAN BRAND WORLD-WIDE. AND WHEN YOU GIVE, YOU GET. CHECK OUT THE REWARDS ON THE RIGHT-HAND PANEL AND READ BELOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT “THIS IS PALESTINE” IS ALL ABOUT.

If you’ve heard the word Palestine on the news, you’ve probably heard a few other words associated to it: Violence. Occupation. Victim.

We think it’s about time to tell a different story.

“This is Palestine” is a week-long celebration of Palestinian culture, creativity and accomplishment.

From Palestinian hip hop, dance theatre, poetry, comedy and music to paintings, photography, jewelry and furniture, we are bringing the real Palestine to Dubai March 12-19, 2014.

The most iconic painting in the Arab world – Jamal Al-Mahamel, which shows a porter carrying Jerusalem on his back – will be exhibited and put up for auction.

It’s one of the biggest Palestinian cultural events ever put on – no one has ever attempted to bring such a diversity of Palestinian art and design under one roof. And we hope it will be the first stepping stone to building a positive national brand.

We are tired of being victims. We’d rather be accomplished painters or creative performers. Welcome to a whole new world: This is Palestine. Experience the Unknown.

I’m all for palestinians wanting to be “painters or creative performers.” I just do not think they can do this by raising money, expressing weariness at being victims, while ignoring the atrocities their terrorist organizations commit to this day.

If they truly want to build a positive national brand, a good start would be renouncing violence and their desire to have Israel wiped off the map.

Update: Did you notice the familiar face in the video? Here’s a clue.
