All over Israel, preparations are well under way for big Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel Independence Day, 66th year celebrations.

Since the early 1920s, Jews have sought peace with their Arab neighbors. But instead, there were the Hebron massacres in 1929, followed by deadly riots in Jerusalem from 1936-1939.

Jews suffered unprovoked attacks and murder well before Israel was even established.

In 1978, Harold Fisch, wrote in “The Zionist Revolution, A New Perspective”

The notion that the Zionist creation in the tiny area of Palestine represents a threat to the very existence and life of the greater Arab people and to their enormous empire (see Palestine Covenant, paragraph 14) is a fantasy. But fantasies can take a dangerous life when entertained with sufficient tenacity and passion.

Already in 1970, Fatah had moved from open warfare to hijacking airplanes. Expelled from Jordan, they turned to a new means of extortion.

While Liberals have desperately sought out “moderates” with whom to talk, the “tenacity and passion” Fisch spoke of has evolved to social media warfare and the fantasy has gained acceptance in Anglo communities.

Let’s skip over the PLO, PA and Oslo years, and go POOF to today’s Boycott, Divest and Sanction, the BDS movement.

BDSHoles can yell their hate on street corners and target entertainers,  but the truth is known by these two women.

Two Kurdish mothers. like many others, are in Jerusalem, Israel, accompanying their sick children while they receive lifesaving medical care.

Over 200 Syrian refugees have been treated near the Syrian border.

Usually mothers accompany their sick children, but this man came with his son. Only this father also got sick and needed hospital care. Oh, I wish I had a camera on that receptionist when he presented his Syrian passport in a Jerusalem, Israel hospital!

These true examples of ultimate #BDSfails do not feed the fantasy of Arab propaganda machines.

Israel is not perfect, but as we celebrate 66 years of building and prospering, against all odds, and yes, caring even for those who come from enemy countries, the reality does seem like a fantasy too.
