Photo of the Day: Eurovision – Jerusalem Style

FYI, Americans totally do not understand or follow Eurovision. I remember watching it for the first time, the whole thing, in awe on a visit to Israel years ago. I thought I had seen it all with Eurovision 2014 winner this year. Dana International represented Israel and won in 1998 dressed in a gown, but without the beard.  Of course, there are comments flying on Facebook:

Cleo Connolly The voting has gone completely bonkers these days. Conversely to that article, the Russian public actually voted Conchita quite highly apparently.

What’s really pissing me off is all the “greatest moment for gender equality in the history of the ESC” business. Eh, sorry, but that was actually 1998 when Dana International won with a far better song. She’s still my all time favourite winner! As one of my tweeps put it: “It’s hilarious how the lefties hatred of all things Israel has made them totally ignore the 1998 Eurovision.

Then on Facebook, there was a photo of a bearded man walking down a Tel Aviv street dressed in a mini-skirt.

image man dressed in long skirt.

Sorry he caught me by surprise, I could not believe what I was seeing, a bearded man was walking down King George Street in center of Jerusalem, Israel, wearing a long skirt.

He looked so much like the photos of the Eurovision 2014 winner, but Jerusalem style, long not a mini.

In the name of gender equality, he had to be Photo of the Day, rather than just more photos of Arab girls.
