Finally Awake: From Pro Palestinian Activist To Staunch Israel Supporter

Linda and The Fink

As a new contributor to Israellycool, let me begin by introducing myself.

I am a Canadian, a mom and a seeker of truth. For many years, I was a “pro-Palestinian peace activist”. Eventually I began to see that “peace” did not mean what I thought it meant.

However, during that time, I came to believe certain things about the Arab/Israeli conflict.

I had come to believe that Israel was always guilty and Palestinians were always innocent victims.

In 2009, I had an opportunity to go to Gaza for 3 weeks. I returned in 2010 and intended to stay for the school year, but my plans changed.

As the time passed while I was in Gaza, I began to see inconsistencies between what I had been told about Gaza and what I was seeing and living. But I had more pressing concerns. Like learning that my spouse and his family had no intentions of letting me return to my family in Canada.

I worked at the American International School in Gaza. The administrators there really tried to watch for any anti-Israel attitudes and would address such immediately.

One time, I reported an essay that one of my students wrote, which was full of images of bombings and the murder of Jews. I was alarmed and when I presented it to the administrators, they assured me they would deal with this student, even expelling him if he continued writing essays of this nature.

My spouse did not “allow” me to visit my coworkers who had become my friends.

My salvation came in the form of encephalitis, a serious brain infection, that left me in a coma, barely alive and not expected to survive, but which also put me in an ambulance on my way to Tel Aviv.

Once there, I finally got to meet people about whom I had heard so many horror stories. The doctor who brainstormed with his team to figure out how to save my life, the nurses who kept encouraging me to keep trying even though my body no longer worked, the physiotherapist who didn’t let me give up – these people didn’t match the descriptions of Israelis I had been given for so many years.

My time in the hospital impacted me deeply, but when I returned to Canada, my spouse was able to come with me. I had suffered a significant brain injury from the prolonged fever so I was very dependent for a long time. During this time, his abuse became much more frequent. In my condition, I was unable to do more than simply try to get through each day. I found myself trying to make him happy so he would treat me well.

I tried. Things kept getting worse.

We had arrived in Canada in December 2010. It took approximately 2 years for my brain to recover and for me to feel strong again. By this time, I was fed up with his abuse but also felt guilty that I wanted to kick him out. I was fed up with him blaming Israel for his abusive behavior.

It was during this time that I really saw how ridiculous it all was. We often talked about politics. While in Gaza, I had talked about politics with so many. Even the children there talk about politics!

Whenever I would speak up and disagree, he would rage at me, accusing me of standing with “the Jews” and against the Palestinians (There was always an expletive between “the” and “Jews” but I will spare you that).

I also noticed that although he supported Fatah back in Gaza, once he was here, all of his friends were Hamas supporters.

We finally split up in 2013. I spent several weeks just trying to regain my peace of mind and found memories that I didn’t realize I had flooding back.

I was shaken to realize his true views on Israel and Jewish people and relieved to find how far apart our views had become.

Over the next several months, I worked on learning more about what Israelis said about the situation. Again, I was learning things that were quite different than some of the things I had been told before and, more importantly, I began to understand another perspective.

Finally, this past February, I made my first visit to Israel since my hospitalization. I stayed with friends who I had gotten to know during my quest to understand.

While in Israel, I made a point of observing as many aspects of life as I could. With so much talk of “apartheid”, I purposely looked for signs of this, and instead, noticed how casually people mixed together as they went about their daily lives.

My friends showed me their Israel – no hype, no propaganda, just real life.

I will never be the same.

Now I have to speak truth against the lies I know are being told. I have seen two sides, Gaza and Israel, and have no choice but to share my stories and observations in the hopes of waking others up who have believed the lies just as I did.

I am so happy and grateful to finally be awake!

  1. Welcome! There is no Arab/Israeli conflict, there is only an ongoing Arab war to kill the Jews of Israel..

    1. Azzaam Abdul-Hakeem

So why are anti Zionist Jews who consider themselves PAlestinian defended by Palestinians and kidnapped and tortured by Gestapoeqsue Israeli Police and IOF Forces, you have no clue about the conflict you have NEVER lived there and you back the words of a lady who has brain inury, you do know brain inuries cause major issues, any medical professional can tell you that. I am a proud Palestinian who is anti Hamas and anti Zionism. I am a proud Arab Nationalist/ Islamic Socialist. BTW, your tax money in America is going to give Israeli’s a Socialist life style every Israeli without working is given $5000 monthly from the US Tax payer and thats on top of the $4billion yearly in Military Aide. Yet you cant feed or house or give medical care or better education for free to your own citizens, yeah thats the truth that you hate to hear.

      1. Umm, actually princess, I have lived in Israel, I have also lived in Iran (A staunch and prominent supporter of your fraudulent cause). I have know your type for a long time. I have also gone to Islamic School. Having said, your way of canceling opposing argument by accusing them of not living in that area is heavily flawed because people like you have zero credibility. People like you have been caught tampering with movies, pictures, and news for a very long time for almost everybody to know that you people fabricate news in order to create hatred toward Jews. So, my friend, please spare us your stupidity, before I embarrass people like you even further.

      2. every Israeli without working is given $5000 monthly from the US Tax payer
Weird, my cheques must have gotten lost in the mail. And the cheques of all the people I know…

      3. [I am a proud Arab Nationalist/ Islamic Socialist.]

And that’s all I need to know about you.

You are upset because you don’t rule over the entire Middle East anymore, and your former “underlings” rose up and sent you packing.

      4. Who are those antizionsit jews who are kidnapped and torutred ? I am sure you can provide a source for that and for the rest of your lies.

      5. Kidnappings! Torture! Gestapo “IOF”! Free U.S. Tax money for every Israeli!! ” Lies burst forth from you like pomegranate seeds, Hakeem.

Now, about that U.S. tax money that has been funding high salaries for convicted Palestinian terrorists and their families …

      6. LindaMarieTodd

$5000 a month???? That’s awesome!! I’m sure my friends would LOVE to find out how to get this. They are working hard and not making this much!
It’s always good to do some fact checking before you post outrageous things, Assaam or else every other thing you say become meaningless. As for the current state of my brain, I suggest you take it up with my doctor who actually knows how I’m doing rather than consult with “any medical professional” who doesn’t have a clue about me.

        1. Shawn Robinson

Linda why are you hiding? Why did you remove all your FB posts? Are you afraid what I write is true?
          Hello Linda,

I have to respond to your blog postings on Israelycool and
          Times of Israel.

As an advocate and activist of self-determination for
Palestinians, I was shocked at your statements about peace activists in Gaza. While I do not doubt that there are bad people disguising themselves as activists, I take offense to your characterizations of people who are advocating for solutions. Promoting these statements on Israeli blog sites just provides justifications to those who disparage Palestinians. This is fuel in the silencing of voices that try to bring attention to a human rights situation.

In particular, I was greatly disturbed to see a picture of
you and Norman Finkelstein on the Israelycool blog site beside a headline that stated Finally Awake: From Pro Palestinian Activist to Staunch Israel Supporter. This implies that Norman Finkelstein has changed his views as well and he may have something to say about that in the legal sense. I also think it is outrageous that you would involve him on any level as the content of your blog has nothing to do with him. I can only caution you that this blog site is using you in promotion of their agenda which is negative propaganda, the issue that you espouse.

But the damage reeking from your blogs is not enough to satisfy your revenge. Engaging in defamatory expressions regarding your marriage and in-laws is not appropriate, even if it was your experience. These read as the writings of a woman scorned. What you are doing is promoting stereotypes against Arabs and Moslems, another propaganda ploy in the distraction of the issue in honour self-determination. That expressed along with your reference to being “married to the Gaza mob” is the most egregious when over the years you documented so lovingly in your many articles and your book how well-treated you were by Gazans and the Gharib family.

And as a fellow Canadian and woman, I am embarrassed to be associated with a fellow citizen who under the qualification of a Canadian writer, who had the love and respect of Arabs, Moslems and Palestinians, has chosen to participate in the racist narrative that promotes an agenda of denial and subjugation.

          Sincerely,

          Shawn Robinson, Ottawa

Ps. I would like to let you know that I too have many
Israeli and Jewish friends who agree and disagree with my views; they are the fabric of my life and I am able to respect them and honour them without denying them how they feel. Human rights are for everyone, human rights are not optional.

          1. LindaMarieTodd

Shawn, as I told you in the TOI comments, you have already told me that you are Canadian and have posted some information about your location (Ottawa). I have saved some of the lies you have posted about me so I strongly suggest you stop or I will take legal action. You see, you obviously don’t understand that if you want to say things (as in, just use your voice) it is very hard to prove in court, but you have been good enough to record your words on two different sites now, not to mention the vomit you posted on my personal facebook page. I am going to type this slowly for you so you can understand – Stop doing this. You are providing me with evidence to use against you in court. Solid evidence of spreading lies about me online. I’m going to help you out here a bit more – here is a dictionary definition for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

            li·bel
            ?l?b?l/
            noun
            noun: libel; plural noun: libels
            1.
            Law
a published false statement that is damaging to a person’s reputation; a written defamation.

            1. Shawn Robinson

It is interesting Linda that people call you names, which I did not; that they made spurious allegations against your character, which I did not; people posted stories about you, which I did not; and yet you think I am libeling you? To understand your thinking, when you posted your statement that peace activists have a secret agenda and promote hatred, and I disagreed with you, told you it was offensive… that you thought was libel? That I commented that you posted a picture on your blog with Norman Finkelstein and the implications of that post… you thought that was libel? When you disparaged your husband and his family, called his father a terrorist, and I wrote you and told you that airing dirty laundry like this promoted racial stereotypes and did nothing to promote peace in Israel and Palestine… you thought I was libeling you?

Look at yourself and the defamation you published in three blogs. Terrorist, abuser, anti-Zionists… you defamed every peace activist in Gaza!

We all believed in you Linda. You worked hard to raise awareness and bring many issues forward and did so for more than ten years. Do you know how I know you? From the NGOs Linda. I couldn`t believe what I was reading yesterday because before you were kind and thoughtful, and a dedicated writer of human rights. These blogs are not objective, they are hurtful to many people including the Gharib family who haven`t said a peep against you. Now that you called your father-in-law a “self-proclaimed terrorist“` what implication will that happen for him? What if he needs to get to an Israeli hospital to save his life? I think we know the answer.

In all the years of internet, in all the posts I get from around the world I only wrote comments on two occasions, and this is one of them. Read the posts on this page Linda, they are sad and angry – Israeli and Arab. Name calling, abuse, threats… is this what you want your blogs to mean? to generate? Tell the truth, express how you feel, Linda, but do it with dignity, do it the way you did for ten years, when you showed passion and understanding.

                1. Shawn Robinson

Linda this will be my last post because I have said my peace. I think it is sad that you felt harassed when I complimented your work and did not attack you for your choices. People who disparaged you, who attacked you, you don`t feel harassed or concern they are libeling your name. I guess there is no understanding this type of thinking.
I have the greatest respect for Israelis and Jewish people too. I am able to defend both sides, it is human rights I care about. Anyway, like your husband`s writing below, I wish you the best in your future. I really hope you write a book of love and understanding,

                  1. LindaMarieTodd

Don’t you dare try to side with my husband. He is a liar. I have witnesses who actually know him, real life and in person and they know just how much abuse I took from him. I am not going to go into detail but don’t you dare……..

I am disgusted that he has the nerve to even comment. The only reason he does is to try to make himself look good when he knows what he’s really done.

And I am disgusted that you would mention his comment when you know nothing of our private hell.

                    As a woman…how dare you.

                    1. Shawn Robinson

Linda, I am not doubting your suffering. And I do not support abusers. I am not siding with your husband either. For me the issue is airing dirty laundry and pulling in people from Gaza. Remember something Linda, I read your communications to the world for a long time. It is shocking to see what you are writing. I realise that you are hurting and I do not mean to be patronizing, As someone who wants to look at situations objectively, that is why I contacted you. My purpose is not to cause you to feel upset or abused, so please let me apologise. After knowing your work for so long, that you have incredible insight, I believe that there will be one day that you will regret what you are doing. I sincerely believe that you are being manipulated by people who are taking advantage of your vulnerability. These blog sites, this one in particular encouraged you to put a picture with Norman Finkelstein; doing this is to make Norman look like a fool. Norman has no part of these issues. Writing a book about being “married to the Gaza mob” is not the way to heal yourself. I am telling you this as a woman. It takes away from all the credibility you accumulated. It robs you of your dignity. You created a wonderful website of the Superwoman – I don’t think this alter ego would advise you to go forward with these ideas. Anyway, I really hope that you read my words as sincere because they really are. You are better than all this, I know it, and I mean it,

                    2. LindaMarieTodd

If you are so genuinely concerned for me, pick up the phone and call me instead of posting all over 2 blog sites and attempting to post all over my Facebook page.

                    3. Shawn Robinson

I was trying to get your attention. I posted you yesterday a couple of times to contact me and you ignored me request. I was respectful to you as well in my posts. Maybe posting on your FB page wasn’t the right way to go – I wanted a response from you.

                    4. LindaMarieTodd

You have no business demanding a response from you. All it proves is that you are pushy beyond belief. You don’t know me personally, you don’t know my personal life, you took it upon yourself to “echo” the words of my abusive husband, after questioning whether or not he actually abused me and then had the nerve to say you don’t want to cause me any suffering?
Shawn, or whoever you are, i will no longer respond to you. Am I clear? I have only responded because I was sick of your grandstanding and now You got what you so desperately wanted – me to address you. You already said you’d stop posting, I suggest you keep your word.
You do not know me and I do not know you. You read what I wrote years ago and then I stopped writing for over a year. Nothing. Nada. Silence.
I do have a private life and I do take time for my own thoughts and reflections. If you read what I have actually written i stead of what you are imagining, you would leave me alone.

After a year of silence and reflection and TRAVEL and research, I am writing again. It doesn’t match your opinion. Fine. I am not trying to follow the opinion of others. I did that and I now realize how WRONG I was.

                  2. LindaMarieTodd

“I worked at the American International School in Gaza. The administrators there really tried to watch for any anti-Israel attitudes and would address such immediately.
One time, I reported an essay that one of my students wrote, which was full of images of bombings and the murder of Jews. I was alarmed and when I presented it to the administrators, they assured me they would deal with this student, even expelling him if he continued writing essays of this nature.”

I have copied and pasted this from my article above. Is this your evidence of me putting down all Palestinians?

It’s actually quite the opposite, but you obviously don’t understand that. What I have said here is actually a good thing…a really good thing.

                    1. Shawn Robinson

Linda, how is it a good thing? It promotes the stereotype that Gazans (Hamas supporters) hate Jews and want them to suffer horrible suffering. When I read this part of your blog, and I reread it, because honestly Linda I have been rereading your blogs and trying to understand, it sounded to me that the American International School in Gaza officially did not support violence towards Israelis but unofficially let these things go without handling the problem. That is how it sounds. People who are supportive of your blog, confirmed that all along they knew that Gazans hated Israelis. Maybe there is some truth to that, but if you look at all the posts here, there is hate going on from both sides of this situation. A colleague of mine who is a Palestinian academic forwarded me an article from the Jordanian post where the writer, who was a young man with no knowledge of world history, talked about his frustration that Israel did not recognize the Nakba. And you know what he did? He put a quote from Mein Kamph at the top.

                    2. Shawn Robinson

Sorry Linda didn’t get to finish my thought. Anyway, the Israeli government demanded that the Jordanian Ambassador explain this article. I contacted the reporter and explained to him what he had done – made the Nakba meaningless and promoted insensitivity to holocaust and world war 2 survivors. He did take out the quote in the end. I guess my point is context.

            2. Shawn Robinson

Forgot to ask, where in the TOI comments is your response? I am interested in your rebuttal, or is it just a cut and paste from above.

      7. Benjamin gressy

I feel bad for you you and the other’s are the same you don’t want to see reality in front of you keep on killing each other great job you are simply a ignorant person that want see trhut

      8. Palestinians get more aid per capita then any people on earth yet they are always angry. All foreign aid should be cut off till they grow up, stop firing missiles at civilians, and learn to be productive humans instead of moochers and terrorists.

The real problem is global Arab/Moslem insistence to spread hate, violence, wars, terrorism, lies, false accusations against Jews and reducing Jews to subhumans or second class citizens – slaves or servants – without any human rights.

My advice to these Pals is very simple.
Quit trying to blow up innocent Israeli families on buses. Stop trying to murder Jews at pizzeria’s and disco’s..
Tell the Pals! You want your welfare handout from the West, than stop with the terrorism and your child abuse death cult.

Hamas and Fatah are always ready to sacrifice women and children for their greed and hatred.

The Palestinians will blow up the same hospital that gave them excellent care. The will try to blow up the power plant providing electricity from Israel. Their hate knows no end. Until they love their children more than they hate the Jews as Golda Meir said.

    2. It should be pointed out, the Jewish leaders on the left at Kibbutz Metzer in 2002 opposed Israel building a fence. The Jewish leaders at Kibbutz Metzer thought the Palestinians have humanity.

To quote Caroline Glick from last week.
      http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Columnists/Pope-Franciss-unfriendly-visit-354557
Our world: Pope Francis’s unfriendly visit
      By CAROLINE B. GLICK
      05/27/2014

As the former Cardinal of Buenos Aires, Francis may have heard of the November 2002 massacre at Kibbutz Metzer. Metzer was founded by Argentine communists in the 1950s. Metzer is located 500 meters from the 1949 armistice lines which made it an obvious beneficiary of the security fence. But true to its radical roots, in 2002 members of the kibbutz waged a public campaign against the planned route of the security fence. They feared that it would, in the words of Metzer member Danny Dovrat, “ignite hostility and create problems” with the kibbutz’s Palestinian neighbors.

Thanks to that concern, on the night of November 10, 2002, a gunman from the “moderate” US- and EU-supported Fatah terror organization faced no physical obstacle when he entered the kibbutz. Once there he killed two people on the street and then entered the home of Revital Ohayon and executed Revital and her two sons, Matan, 5, and Noam, 4 years old.

Fatah praised the attack on its website and pledged to conduct more assaults on “Zionist colonizers,” and promised to continue “targeting their children as well.”

Had he actually cared about the cause of peace and non-violence he claims to champion, Francis might have averred from stopping at the barrier, recognizing that doing so would defile the memory of the Ohayons and of hundreds of other Israeli Jewish families who were destroyed by Palestinian bloodlust and anti-Semitic depravity.

absolutely awesome beginning to what I am certain is going to be a very interesting story. it will of course be dismissed without being read by those who understand that it challenges their world view. but having been to Israel and having seen the way people do not even see differences there, vs being in the territories and seeing how everyone who even looks slightly different is examined thoroughly.

  3. It seems your change of heart was more about your live life than ethics.
From defender to supporter of oppression and occupation, not forgetting denial of ror. The idea a person can flit from one to the other based on a broken relationship says very little about your principles.

We see many more former zionists than vice versa but if you can so easily abandon people because of a broken heart, you are better off with the zionists entity and its henchmen.

    1. Hey Ian, seems you have a difficult time in reading and comprehension. Linda actually started investigating and observing, and not just accepting the lies she had been fed. And she made an informed decision, which I know must be hard for Israel-hating zombies like you to accept.

    2. I guess you missed these bit:

“I finally got to meet people about whom I had heard so many horror stories. The doctor who brainstormed with his team to figure out how to save my life, the nurses who kept encouraging me to keep trying even though my body no longer worked, the physiotherapist who didn’t let me give up – these people didn’t match the descriptions of Israelis I had been given for so many years.”

      and

“While in Israel, I made a point of observing as many aspects of life as I could. With so much talk of “apartheid”, I purposely looked for signs of this, and instead, noticed how casually people mixed together as they went about their daily lives.”

      etc.

So what actually happened was, she looked at FACTS and saw they didn’t match the hate she had been fed.

Of course, we’re all familiar with people like you, who exemplify the aphorism, “My mind is made up, don’t confuse me with facts.”

    3. “We see many more former zionists than vice versa but if you can so easily abandon people because of a broken heart, you are better off with the zionists entity and its henchmen.”

      I smell defensiveness.

Get used to it. You’ll be seeing more people like Linda in the future. Way more.

        1. I know so. How do I know this? Because I was also pro-Pal at one point in my life, but my curiosity (highly discouraged in anti-Zionist circles) eventually led me to the truth.

It doesn’t matter how much you sugarcoat it in human rights language. Hatred can’t be disguised, and if recent experiences are any indication, people are slowly waking up to the sinister nature of BDS.

    4. What an absolutely inane comment, do you understand the meaning of the term “denial” – and it ain’t a river in Africa baby !

Just for the record, you’re in it !

    5. What an absolutely inane comment, do you understand the meaning of the term “denial” – and it ain’t a river in Africa baby !

Just for the record, you’re in it !

    6. LindaMarieTodd

Ian, you have read much more than I wrote – amazing!

You are making up accusations, arrogantly supposing that you know the whole story and so can draw conclusions about every motive and thought.

You don’t like what I’ve written. I can live with that. But even try to imply that you have any authority to know what this journey has been for me.

      1. I spent time on both sides too but I know what occupation, oppression and denial of ror are.
I also know you from various groups.

I hope you remain at peace with yourself.

      2. Shawn Robinson

Linda, why did you delete all your previous work on the Internet? Personally I support you to change your direction, but why erase the past? What are you trying to hide…

  4. @Travis, you should amend your comment, – drop the words “of Israel” and your statement will be closer to the real truth.

  5. It takes a lot of courage to say, “Excuse me, I was wrong” about a decision or group of decisions. I applaud Ms. Todd for that courage and welcome her to Israel. Glad we could help. Given half a chance, we would like to help everyone.

  6. What do you really expect from a woman who left all her kids (i think 5) for a man and left them to be with him..she can easily abandon a whole population..you can easily tell that she is getting paid to do this..

Linda stop lying to everyone “Its what you saw with your own eyes and not heard” Who forced you to write your book? The Palestinians?

      1. Even if he was abusive why was she such an idiot to leave her kids and end up with him..so has she turned a blind eye to all that she believed and wrote to all the sufferings of the Palestinians just coz of one man? That shows how loyal she will be to the Israeli’s..lets sit back and watch 😉

          1. But she hasnt this this the whole problem..she wasnt fed lies..she saw with her own eyes …it shows how much of liar she is..maybe you should read her book..no one forced her to write it..

              1. No love we are not haters 🙂 threatened by what? A story that doesnt make sense? It shows how desperate you are to believe this is true..there is a reason for her to have a change of heart..maybe she is in need of money?

                  1. Im not sure she is stable/steady ..she seems to be the type that flips and changes..What if she decides to go back to him? You can have a great laugh then 😉

                    1. LindaMarieTodd

And you’re a doctor too! Tell me something, how much time have we spent together in the past year?
Which one of my close friends are you?

You bravely hide behind a fictional ID and yet pretend to know me personally.

                    2. Im not hiding Linda..what makes you think im a close friend? Is it coz its all true? 😉

                    3. LindaMarieTodd

Hahahahaha ok “fufu”, whatever you say

And I see you don’t understand rhetorical devices or sarcasm. Lol Oh well.

I don’t actually think you’re a close friend. That was sarcasm. Lol If you knew me, you’d know how idiotic your accusations and assumptions are.

                    4. They are not accusations or assumptions we were together In some groups I remember clearly you fighting Israeli’s and telling them a hell of a lot about what you saw..when they told you that you heard from the Palestinian propaganda..your reply was always I saw with my own eyes!! Are your eyes still ok?

About the suicide bombings when was the last one Linda? Have you forgotten that you advised all the Christians to really look closely like you have done? What are your plans in visiting churches now?

                    5. LindaMarieTodd

I’m perfectly fine. Thank you for asking. I do not deny what my position was. I have come to realize that I interpreted what I saw through a thick layer of propaganda.

I still advise Christians to look closely as I have done but I would add that judgements should not be made without a more complete picture.

I know what I saw and I know what I’ve said, hence my apology and my speaking out now.
What I had said was said without knowing what I know now.

I justified things that were unjustifiable and have changed my message about that.

You are determined to make people believe I have “abandoned” innocent people when I have done nothing of the sort.

I have examined everything more deeply when I had more information. And I sought out more i formation when I

                    6. LindaMarieTodd

I sought out more information when I began to understand the depth and ramifications of the inconsistencies I was seeing.

I realized that I didn’t know everything and needed to learn more.

I am a Christian but I am not God. Having taken the time to investigate my questions, I now know more than I did before.

You would do well to actually talk to me. You claim to know me and yet you prefer to continue to speak behind your disguise. Very brave of you.

I am not the only person in the world who has admitted they were wrong and is now making amends.

You talk about being a Christian? Try a little humility.

And it’s the innocent people in Gaza who I especially feel sorry for if people like you are still calling yourselves “peace activists”

                    7. Shawn Robinson

The golden rule of Christianity is “to love thy neighbour”, that means everybody Linda.

                    8. Shawn Robinson

Personally Linda I think examination is good thing. But painting everybody with the same brush is unfair. Can you try to be more objective?

                    9. LindaMarieTodd

I guess you don’t pay attention to what’s going on over there. Just a couple of days ago, a would be suicide bomber was stopped at one of those pesky checkpoints. No one died. That’s a good thing, right?

                    10. Its cause Israel Homicide bombing preventing wall has prevented these terrorist Palestinians from killing Israeli civilians.

Why Israel’s security barrier matters: a harrowing story often forgotten
                      BY RAHEEM KASSAM
                      DECEMBER 27, 2013

On December 18th 2010, Kay Wilson and her Christian, American friend Kristine Luken were hiking through a forest outside Beit Shemesh in Israel, around 15 miles away from Bethlehem, and 20 miles away from Jerusalem.

Wilson, a British-born Israeli tour guide, would never have thought that on that very day, she would witness her friend being murdered in front of her own eyes, and come terrifyingly close to death herself. But that is precisely what happened, after the pair were set upon by two Palestinian terrorists, Ayad Fasafa and Kifah Ghanimat.

The pair, who had crossed into Israel illegally, using an area in which Israel’s security barrier was incomplete, plunged a butcher’s knife into Wilson’s chest 13 times before leaving for dead. Wilson witnessed the last cries of her friend, Luken, as she was killed just metres away.

Whilst Luken did not survive the attack, Wilson managed to make it to nearby picnickers, who sought help for her. Incredibly, she survived, and should perhaps be one of the most significant voices on why Israel’s security barrier is no “apartheid wall”, but instead, a necessary feature of a country and a people that are threatened daily with terrorist atrocities that make no attempt to differentiate between military and civilian targets. In her attackers’ eyes, Wilson was as legitimate a casualty of their war as an enemy combatant.

But Wilson’s tale is not told, nor heard, often enough.

Instead, in the West at least, we are conditioned into believing that Israel’s security barrier is some form of religious, ethnic, or cultural separation wall, designed to keep ordinary Palestinians from the more productive livelihoods that their Israeli counterparts enjoy. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Incidents such as Wilson and Luken’s, as well as statistics that prove that the wall/fence/barrier, call it what you will, actually succeeds in stopping these heinous attacks, should serve as critical reminders of why such a measure is even necessary. But for many, neither the human implications, nor the statistical data, are enough to alter what is fundamentally a political narrative aimed at demonising the State of Israel.

And this is what we have seen this week with St. James’s Church in London erecting a fantasy wall in “solidarity” with the Palestinians who have to live on the other side.

As early as 2006 it was reported that since the fence’s erection, there was an approximate 90 percent decrease in the number of successful terror attacks registered. A drop of approximately 70 percent was also recorded in the number of casualties resulting from terror attacks.

But it is much easier to stand around a fake wall in London than convey the ultimate truths and realities of the situation on the ground in Israel and the West Bank. In fact, if “Bethlehem Unwrapped” campaign were being honest about the security fence, it would have erected just a metre or two of concrete, and a simple wire fence for the rest of their demonstration, because these are the real proportions of the make-up of the real security fence.

Just 10 percent of Israel’s “apartheid wall” is actually a wall, while the rest is a simple wire fence: a fact that you would not find out at the St. James’s Church demonstration.

And of course, the fence isn’t even complete yet – a fact that Ha’aretz reported was a deciding factor in the murder of Luken, and several months earlier, of Neta Sorek, a feminist activist and English teacher.

Both of these murders, as well as the other crimes to which the suspects have been linked, raise anew the question of infiltrations from the West Bank. The area between Jerusalem and the Gush Etzion settlement bloc is well known as the “illegal migrant path”, where thousands of Palestinian job-seekers – as well as criminals and occasionally, terrorists – migrate on a weekly basis.

Nine years after then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s government decided to erect the security barrier, only about two-thirds of the fence is actually standing.

Kristine Luken was a practicing Christian, someone the church should be standing up for and commemorating the life of. Instead, the St. James’s Church display makes a tawdry political mockery of Luken’s life, of Wilson’s harrowing experiences, and of Sorek’s grissly death.

Until “pro-Palestinian” do-gooders can acknowledge the facts as laid out above, and propose some way of dealing with the horrific challenges the people of Israel face, then I’m afraid we should feel nothing but complete and utter regret towards them, and complete and utter disdain for their high-definition,

Here’s a response by Lissa you should read.

The wall is not the tragedy; the tragedy is the reason for the wall. Thank you for speaking truth, Raheem. I live near the place where Kristine was murdered and Kay was repeatedly stabbed. It was our family picnic spot. Is there anywhere that Jewish people can live without fear of being persecuted or killed just because they are Jews? I wonder how those in the UK who condemn Israel would respond if they had 10,000 missiles fall in their neighborhoods, as Israelis in the south have? Or if their children were bombed on buses or in pizza shops or slain in their beds as ours have been?

Why is the outcry about the wall instead of against the terrorism which made the wall a life-saving necessity? Instead of vilifying Israel, these people who care for justice should study the history of Israel and of the UK, and ask forgiveness of the Jewish people for turning them away from the shores of Israel and sending them back to Hitler’s ovens or for holding them in detention camps in Israel and Cypress with inadequate food, clothing and sanitation.

When crying out for human rights, the right of Israelis to live in the small land of Israel in peace, should not be overlooked. Please read the Balfour Declaration and look at the maps of the land allotted to the Jewish people by the League of Nations. We are living on a fraction of the land which we were promised. We want our children to be able to ride a bus or eat a pizza or sleep in their beds in safety; thus, the wall, which has drastically reduced terrorism and saved countless lives of Jews and Arabs in Israel.

Linda, to understand sarcasm… One had to be intelligent, which… ‘fufu’ isn’t…

                  2. Have you noticed how the first thought of the haters when someone stands up and counters their lies is to say, “Someone must be paying them to do this!”

It happens so often that it’s beginning to sound like projection.

                    1. And the ever popular: “cuz a man dumped your sorry arse and now you’re a bitter old hag” explanation.

                    2. LindaMarieTodd

It’s disturbing too how they defend an abuser. His brother defends him (on TOI) and some of these people who never spent a moment in my home. Classy.

                    3. LindaMarieTodd

                    4. Shawn Robinson

Why are you airing dirty laundry Linda, is this so everyone thinks you are a victim? I don’t get the connection of advocating for a country and bashing an ex-husband. It is dirty thing to do.

                    5. LindaMarieTodd

It’s disturbing too how they defend an abuser. His brother defends him (on TOI) and some of these people who never spent a moment in my home. Classy.

                1. LindaMarieTodd

Fufu, I would like to know which lie you are telling:
You said you know me personally and you also said you are not hiding.

So…. My problem is that I don’t know anyone named Fufu…so, either you’re lying about knowing me personally or you’re lying about not hiding.

                  Which is it?

                  1. Where did I say I know you personally? I said we were in groups together and I used to love your comments when you smashed the Israeli’s heads with facts that you acually saw happen in Palestine..have you forgotten the innocent children In Gaza you always mentioned?
I hope you wake up from what you got yourself into just coz a man left you..is it making you happy making all the Palestinians pay..

                    1. She thought lying about those things (Muhammad Al-Dura, etc) was on the side of justice. Now Linda has realized it’s not and that the lies need to be stopped as she has said on multiple occasions.

              2. yeah, but why are we engaging with them? they don’t have anything to offer the conversation. they only want to tear down this woman because she dared to say something good about Israel. we should really be ignoring them.

            1. LindaMarieTodd

I saw Gaza without ever seeing Israel, so I believed the lies I was told. While in Gaza, it took living there to begin to see the inconsistencies. You are so quick to try to accuse me of saying things I have not said.
I may be an idiot, but
I’m a literate one and I do see that you are trying to discredit me by supposing to address things I did not say.

My book was published in 2011. Less than a year after returning from Gaza. And right in the middle of a very traumatic time in my life.
              Thank you for your compassion.

I saw many things in Gaza. I have not said I did not see what
I have seen. What I am saying is that I. No longer see it through the veil of propaganda I once did.

Clearly you are still clinging to that veil

                1. LindaMarieTodd

Haha while your avid interest in me is flattering, you clearly know nothing about me if this is the conclusion you draw.

                  1. I think your getting there yesterday in the Times of Israel today here Tomorrow? ?

The headlines hmmm From “Finally awake from Pro Palestinian Activist To Staunch Israel Supporter” “Resurrection in Tel Aviv”…

Let me ask you honestly was Hamoudi abusive as you tell everyone?

                    1. LindaMarieTodd

If you actually knew me, you would know the answer. I am not going to discuss the painful details of what happened inside my home. You smugly continue to hide behind your fake ID.

                    2. Shawn Robinson

But Linda you did talk all over the place that your husband abused you. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. There are always two sides of story no matter how thinly you slice it. Your marriage issues have no place in what you are doing. It is interesting Linda, everybody is upset with you because you escalated the rhetoric with your racist promotions, they were offended when you disparaged Gazans and your husband and his family. How is that being a “truth seeker”? Ten years I have read you on the internet and you lovingly wrote about Gazans and their wonderful treatment of you. Now they are Jew-haters and all advocates of violence. Thank you Linda, you really helped with peace.

              1. Thank you for turning a blind eye to Palestine and the sufferings of the Palestinian people for so long for “The hate of Hamoudi” is that your next book? 🙂

    1. Any time someone speaks up for Israel, they are accused of being paid to do so. Because, obviously, nobody moral would ever support such a demonic, inhuman entity, amirite?

    2. Convenient to pretend you know me from behind your fictional identity. I guess you were in the room during the many conversations I had with my kids before going. And that you know their ages lol
It may come as a shock to you that a woman can bear children and still pursue things in life that she finds important. Left them for a man? I keep forgetting, you have a close personal relationship with me and are privy to the goings on inside my family.

Stop lying? Thank you for the suggestion.

I have. Once I realized what the lies were, I made a full stop, simply being silent about it at first but realizing that wasn’t enough. The lying hasn’t stopped so I have to speak out.
Peace will never be achieved through lies.

It appears that these sites insist on using my old ID…. Hopefully I can change it so Fufu doesn’t get too much more excited

      1. Peace will never be achieved of course of people like you!! Selling ones soul..I actually feel sorry for you..

      2. Shawn Robinson

Is peace achieved by promoting racial stereotypes? If you want to help Israel advocate for them, don’t confuse your relationship. Also a question, why are you hiding down here? I am still waiting for your answer to my letter. Because I am right?

  7. need anymore evidence that the bds/jew haters/israel haters are part of a cult?

look at the comments attacking linda

they do exactly what scientology does when one leaves

    evil monsters

      1. its pretty obvious

this site gets plenty of troll posts, but your thread has had an uber amount

expect the same where ever you go

cults dont like when one of their own leaves the fold

also expect social media to be inundated with lies and unsubstantiated rumors

laugh it off…they are doing it because you scare the bejeezus out of them

          1. LindaMarieTodd

Just to prove how compassionate and peace-loving she is, one poster (I don’t know her) posted several times (20??) an article that I wrote in 2002 or 2003 that my whole post on TOI is apologizing for because it justifies suicide bombings. Yes, I did write it – long ago – and that is what I am apologizing for there. She is so peace loving that she saw fit to keep posting it for everyone to see. I have deleted them all but I will keep an eye on it. The odd thing is, I had send an email to the owners of the site it’s posted on and asked them to remove it. I received an email from them saying it had been removed. 🙁 I thought that matter was settled. Clearly it’s not.

            1. Shawn Robinson

What are you afraid of Linda in deleting posts. If you apologised for the article, does it really make any difference? I didn’t post the links for this reason anyway, I wanted to show how passionate you were for Palestine. Yesterday you had FB posts all over the place, why are those deleted? I guess we will never know.

  8. What an amazing and heart-warming story. Linda, I admire your physical courage in overcoming a terrible illness and then in standing up to an abusive husband. But beyond that I am in awe of your moral courage in being able to see the facts, to absorb them and then to adjust your world view accordingly. And then to admit that you had been wrong and misled. Greater men and women have not always been able to do this. You are an outstanding example for us all to follow.

Ignore the haters and detractors. They are just eaten up by jealousy and fear.

  9. Did you tell everyone that you were married to an Iranian? And you are only milking Israel like you milked Palestine for attention, fame and money? If Israel and Israelis were smart enough, they wouldnt believe you because apparently you are dumb enough to be able to hold a job so you come friends with Iran then Palestine then Israel and make blogs and books to sell and gain money! Also tell them how your family and kids dont respect you because you go after young guys. Are you in love with an Israeli guy? should we expect a “book of love with an Israeli” in the market soon? You are nothing but a lying snake who likes to use and milk people and causes. I urge everyone to do some research about your shameful past. You also claim to be Christian when you left your religion to marry a Muslim and you were always badmouthing Jews and calling them terrorists!

    1. LindaMarieTodd

I find it interesting that such a wealth of inaccurate information is bravely posted by someone remaining “anonymous”

In case you didn’t actually read the post, Sue (is it Sue?), I have admitted to what my views used to be and that I realize that I was wrong. You’re not spilling the beans here. I already did.

As for the rest of it, you really need to check your facts better.

      1. Linda, we all do stupid and sometimes irrational and hurtful things for love. You’re right: you found the error and corrected it. From personal experience, I know how hard it can be to walk away when you’ve invested so much of yourself. It takes tremendous strength. I don’t know what agenda your haters have, but the lies and half-truths are uncalled for and they should all dig a hole and throw themselves in.

      2. Shawn Robinson

If you were wrong to disparage Jewish people (I support your change of heart) why are you now disparaging Gazans?

  10. When you separate from your new Israeli love interest remember you could try the Koreans next time, if it goes badly with one you can hop another political border!
    Or better still try Ryan?

The top half of him hasn’t seen the bottom half in years, they must be at conflict point by now.

      1. I think he’s referring to the wonderful Ryan Bellerose. He’s written several columns for Israellycool and you can also find him on Facebook.

        1. LindaMarieTodd

OH!! RYAN!!! Yes yes, I know who he is!!! lol

Oh that makes Ian’s comment even funnier hahaha Poor Ryan…now he’s getting dragged into this too!! lol

  11. Linda, these haters seem obsessed with your love life. It’s beginning to like like they (or at least, SOME of them) have a crush on you that you didn’t reciprocate.

  12. Hopefully others will now come out and share similar stories, Linda’s story is not isolated. You may be giving other people strength to come forward, Linda, Thank You for your courage & wisdom. The best is yet to come.

  13. Your story hit me on the head like a hammer and reminded me of my own past. I was involved with Palestinian journalist from Gaza too, the difference is that before I met him I had the chance to meet Israelis and get to love Israel. I really enjoyed my time there and I was able to get to know their side of the story. Unfortunately, this man worked very hard to turn me against them and convince me that they’re liars. I was getting more and more paranoid when I was hearing things like “I don’t hate them, even though I really should, but they’re trying to murder us all, exactly like Germans tried to kill them”. I heard more and more fake stories about “Israeli crimes” and I got a bit zealous. Good thing is that it didn’t last too long and my sympathy and compassion towards Israelis and Jews survived all that and made me question him in the end. Today I shudder when I think about all this negativity towards Israel that he made me feel.

  14. I guess you failed to see the 27 foot wall on Palestinian land and the Jewish only roads to illegal Jewish only settlements.

    1. I guess you didn’t hear about the constant stream of Palestinian terror attacks that murdered thousands of Israelis in their own country. I guess you couldn’t give a flying f*** about facts, truth, and reality because it upsets your well crafted narrative that “Israel is the new Nazis” . I guess you’d leave your doors unlocked at night, even though your murderous neighbour already killed 2 of your children in their bed. Because you’re so morally superior.

      1. Thousands of Jews have not been killed by Palestinians.82 Palestinian children were murdered by Israelis before 1 Jewish was killed.
No Palestinians have taken part in suicide bombings for several years but Israelis strap themselves into planes and have killed and injured thousands of Palestinians and Israeli Knesset members thinks its funny to put Gaza children on a diet causing chronic malnutrition there and severe anemia in pregnant women.
The thugs that just ran through the Arab quarter vandalizing Palestinian property shout death to Arabs. In Hebron on Saturday that is typical behavior of Jewish after services. Apparently those kids parents don’t teach their kids normal consideration most parents expect from their children.Pitiful.Glad we don’t have people like that in US.The bad ones moved to Israeli settlPalestiniansements which will be emptied out when they move to the promised land next door.

        1. The Palestinians are the ones who have have deliberately targeted civilians time and time again out of nothing from the hatred from Islam

They have blown up icecream and pizza parlors full of Israeli children. Deliberately blown up people going to work and school on buses, Fired rockets at residential neighborhoods, kidnapped and murdered children ,stabbed elderly Holocaust survivors, slit the throats of infants and the list of horrors go on and on.

Why do you support these Palestinian butchers.
Are you an Islamo Nazi supporter.

The terrorist who murdered 15 in the Sbarro pizza shop suicide bombing in 2001 was given a military funeral by the PA after his body was transferred to the PA last week.

On Aug. 9, 2001 suicide bomber Izz Al-Din Al-Masri detonated himself in a Sbarro pizza shop in Jerusalem, killing 15, 7 of them children. 5 members of one family were killed in the attack. Palestinian Media Watch has reported that the PA in the past has honored Ahlam Tamimi, the terrorist who picked the Sbarro restaurant as the place for the bombing “because many people entered it”, and later led the bomber there. Official PA TV has also glorified her.

Last week, Israel transferred the body of the suicide bomber to the PA and both the PA and Hamas took the opportunity to honor the murderer once again. Reporting from the official military funeral, PA TV News called him a “Martyr,” the highest religious level a Muslim can reach. In calling the terrorist a Martyr – a Shahid – the PA continues to teach its people that according to its interpretation of Islam, killers of Israeli civilians in suicide terror attacks are doing such a positive act, that it overrules the general Islamic prohibition against committing suicide.

PA TV News reported that the murderer “gave his soul for the struggle of a nation that strives for freedom,” and described the terrorist’s funeral as his “wedding” to the 72 Virgins in Paradise, the great reward Islam promises to those who die as Martyrs for Allah. Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV News glorified the suicide bomber as “victorious,” and also referred to him as a “Martyr” who now “has returned to make those who loved him happy, just as he made them happy on the day he carried out his operation 13 years ago.” The Hamas reporter glorified the terror attack killing 15 as an act that “gave the Zionists a taste of humiliation”:

“Izz Al-Din Al-Masri ascended to Paradise in a Martyrdom-seeking operation (suicide terror attack) he carried out in the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, where he gave the Zionists a taste of humiliation after killing 19 Zionists and wounding dozens… The citizens expressed their pride in Izz Al-Din’s heroism, along with the thousands who gathered to accompany him on his final journey, and they did not forget all those who played a role in this operation.” [Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas), April 30, 2014]

A PA official interviewed at the funeral said:

“The popular gathering around the blood of Izz Al-Din Al-Masri is an honest and true expression of our people’s yearning for national unity (between Fatah and Hamas) and unity of action.”

Palestinian Media Watch has reported that in 2012 when bodies of 91 terrorists, including many suicide bombers, were transferred to the PA by Israel, the PA honored them as Islamic Martyrs with a military funeral.

Then PA Mufti Muhammad Hussein said:
“Our people, headed by the Palestinian leadership, welcome these Martyrs with great honor… Honored brothers, this is a great event: The souls of the noble Martyrs envelop us, and their souls tell us to follow in their path.” [Official PA TV, May 31, 2012]

The Sec. Gen. of Mahmoud Abbas’ office, Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim, also spoke:
“We will never forget them, and we will always remain faithful to their vow… Oh brothers [Martyrs], your souls now hover above us and say to us: ‘Follow in our path, stick to the obligation that is incumbent upon us.'”

The following are longer excerpts of the PA and Hamas TV’s broadcasts from the funeral of the suicide terrorist:

PA TV reporter: “Thousands of civilians from the Tubas District, representing all segments of the political activity, took part in the funeral of the remains of the Martyr (suicide bomber who killed 15) who gave his soul for the struggle of a nation that strives for freedom.”

Mayor of Aqqaba Jamal Abu Ara: “The popular gathering around the blood of Izz Al-Din Al-Masri is an honest and true expression of our people’s yearning for national unity (between Fatah and Hamas) and unity of action.”

PA TV reporter: “The flags of the political parties were raised at this national wedding (the Martyr’s wedding to the 72 Virgins in Paradise), which demonstrated the national unity and cohesion among our people.”
[Official PA TV, April 30, 2014]

Hamas TV reporter: “The Martyrdom-seeker Izz Al-Din Al-Masri (suicide bomber who killed 15) has returned victorious… He has returned to make those who loved him happy, just as he made them happy on the day he carried out his operation (suicide terror attack) 13 years ago. The return to his home in Aqqaba was a wedding worthy of ululations (the Martyr’s wedding to the 72 Virgins in Paradise)…”

Suicide bomber’s mother: “I congratulate him: Congratulations, my son, on your Martyrdom, praise Allah. You obtained what you sought, praise Allah…”

Hamas TV reporter: “Izz Al-Din Al-Masri ascended to Paradise in a Martyrdom-seeking operation (suicide terror attack) he carried out in the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, where he gave the Zionists a taste of humiliation after killing 19 Zionists and wounding dozens… The citizens expressed their pride in Izz Al-Din’s heroism, along with the thousands who gathered to accompany him on his final journey, and they did not forget all those who played a role in this operation.”

Hamas leader Ahmad Nimr Abu Ara: “All flee death except the Martyrdom-seeker, who pursues and seeks the Angel of Death. I salute Ahlam Tamimi, (planned Sbarro bombing) who brought Izz Al-Din to his battlefield; I salute Qais Adwan (responsible for murder of 77); I salute Abdallah Barghouti (67 life sentences); I salute Ahmed Al-Ja’abari (Hamas leader); I salute Muhammad Deif (Hamas leader), and first and foremost, I salute prisoner Jamal Abu Al-Hija (9 life sentences).”

Izz Al-Din Al-Masri – suicide bomber who carried out the Aug. 9, 2001 bombing of the Sbarro pizza restaurant in Jerusalem, in which 15 civilians were killed and 130 wounded. Israel transferred the terrorist’s body to the PA on April 29, 2014.

Ahlam Tamimi – was serving 16 life sentences for leading a suicide bomber to the Sbarro pizza shop in Jerusalem on August 9, 2001. 15 people were murdered in the attack, 7 of them children, and 130 were injured. In October 2011, Tamimi was released as part of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal brokered between the Israeli government and Hamas. In that deal, Israel released 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held hostage by Hamas for more than 5 years.

Qais Adwan – a senior member of Hamas’ military wing, responsible for the deaths of 77 Israelis. He was involved in several Hamas terror attacks, including the Sbarro pizza shop suicide bombing in Jerusalem (15 killed, 130 wounded, Aug. 9, 2001), the Netanya Park Hotel suicide bombing (29 killed, 64 wounded, March 27, 2002), and the Haifa Matza Restaurant suicide bombing (16 killed, 40 wounded, March 31, 2002). He was killed by Israeli security forces in Tubas in May 2002.

Abdallah Barghouti – serving 67 life sentences for preparing explosives for terror attacks in which 67 people were murdered: Sbarro restaurant (15 killed, Aug. 9, 2001), Sheffield Club (15 killed, May 7, 2002), Moment Caf? (11 killed, March 9, 2002), triple attack at Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall (11 killed, Dec. 1, 2001), Hebrew University (9 killed, July 31, 2002), and Bus 4 in Tel Aviv (6 killed, Sept. 19, 2002).

Ahmed Al-Ja’abari – Head of Hamas’ military wing, killed by Israel on Nov. 14, 2012.

Muhammad Deif – commander of Hamas’ military wing, the Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades. He organized several terror attacks, including the first Jaffa Street suicide bombing in Jerusalem (27 killed, 35 wounded, Feb. 25, 1996), the second Jaffa Street suicide bombing in Jerusalem (18 killed, over 40 wounded, March 3, 1996), the Ashkelon Junction suicide bombing (1 killed, 35 wounded, March 3, 1996), the Elei Sinai shooting attack (2 killed, 15 wounded, Oct. 2, 2001 and the Atzmona shooting attack (5 killed, 15 wounded, March 7, 2002). He also led the cell that kidnapped and murdered 3 Israeli soldiers: Shahar Simani (April 20, 1994), Aryeh Frankental (July 7, 1994) and Nahshon Waxman (Oct. 9, 1994).

Jamal Abu al-Haija – is serving 9 life sentences for planning two suicide attacks: the Hadera Market suicide bombing (7 killed, 55 injured, Oct. 26, 2005) and the Herzl Street suicide bombing in Netanya (5 killed, over 40 wounded, Dec. 5, 2005).

Report on the military funeral in PA daily Al-Ayyam:
“The funeral procession of Martyr (Shahid) [Izz Al-Din] Al-Masri, who carried out the Sbarro Martyrdom-seeking (Istish’had) operation (i.e., terror attack) in West Jerusalem on Aug. 9, 2001, set out from the Turkish Government Hospital in Tubas.
The remains of Martyr Al-Masri were shrouded inside a National Security Forces military vehicle, which led the military funeral procession that set out for the Martyr’s birthplace…
District Governor of Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley Rabih Al-Khandaqji and Mayor of Aqqaba Jamal Abu Ara participated in the funeral…
In his eulogy of the Martyr, Al-Khandaqji emphasized that the reception of the Martyrs in such a national and popular atmosphere, in the presence of all the forces and factions of the national and Islamic activity, expresses the unity of the ranks and the unity of the Palestinian cause…
The District Governor added: ‘Our Martyrs are not [mere] numbers in the occupation’s cemeteries, but heroes who watered the pure land of Palestine with their blood. It is our duty to remain committed to the path until their dream – the establishment of the independent State of Palestine, whose capital is Jerusalem – is realized.'”
          [Al-Ayyam, May 1, 2014]

“In their eulogies [of Izz Al-Din Al-Masri], the Martyr’s relatives expressed their pride in their son, emphasizing that Palestine, which sacrifices Martyrs, will obtain freedom someday.” [Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 1, 2014]

Note: Palestinian families of terrorists buried in Israel have petitioned the Israeli High Court of Justice, demanding that Israel transfer the bodies of their family members. In August 2013, against the backdrop of the renewal of peace negotiations with the Palestinians, Israel informed the High Court that it was intending to transfer the bodies in any case – a process that had begun already in 2012 -, and that therefore, the families’ petitions were unnecessary and there was no need for the High Court to rule on the matter.

          1. You are ill informed.
Palestinians are not kidnapping children.Israelis kidnap Palestinians children daily.
Sadly one settller family was murdered in cluding one baby by a Palestinian who was mad about not getting paid. And several years ago some Palestinians went to public places and committed suicide. This is not being done by any Palestinians today though 6000 enter Israel regularly and 20% of Israeli s is Palestinian.
Rockets since 2000 have killed 30 people.Israel killed 1400 including 412 children in 22 days. One family was herded into one home and a plane bombed it killing 100 members of one family in Gaza look it up.
2008.Read the Goldstone report.Read Haretz or Bet Selim or UN reports.

            1. No, you are misinformed with your lies.

Do you think Israel should do nothing while Hamas terrorists are firing thousands of missiles at them from Gaza.
What country would put up with this Islamic terrorism.

The people Israel killed in Gaza were terrorists and humans shields used by Hamas.

Report: Hamas Lied About Gaza Casualties
Journalist visits Gaza, reports that only 500-600 were killed in Cast Lead. Hamas had claimed 1,330 killed, 5,000 wounded.
              Maayana Miskin
              1/22/2009

Italian journalist Lorenzo Cremonesi, who works with the Corriere della serra newspaper, reported Thursday that Hamas had vastly overstated the number of civilian deaths in Gaza. While Hamas claims that 1,330 residents of Gaza were killed in the operation and approximately 5,000 wounded, the real number of casualties was far lower, Cremonesi says.

Cremonesi’s report was based on his own findings after touring hospitals in Gaza and talking to families of those killed or wounded. “It is sufficient to visit several [Gaza] hospitals to understand that the numbers don’t add up,” he explained.

Cremonesi estimated that between 500 to 600 people were killed in the fighting. Most were young men between the ages of 17 and 23 who were members of Hamas, he said.

Many hospitals had several empty beds, he reported. Hamas has stated that Gaza hospitals are filled to capacity due to the large number of victims, with many of the wounded being turned away due to the shortage of doctors and supplies.

The Italian report also confirmed Israeli allegations that Hamas had used civilians as human shields and used ambulances and United Nations buildings in the fighting. Those who tried to drive the terrorists away in order to protect their families were beaten.

Civilians told Cremonesi that they shouted at Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists to leave the area to avoid drawing Israeli fire on civilians. The terrorists responded by calling them “traitors,” “collaborators” and “cowards,” and insisted that any civilians killed would be martyrs destined for paradise.

Civilians also reported that Hamas terrorists disguised themselves as paramedics and drove ambulances during the fighting. In addition, terrorists launched rockets from UN buildings. Many of these actions are defined as war crimes.

“The knew they were weaker, but they wanted them [the Israelis] to fire on our houses, so they could accuse them of war crimes,” a resident of the Gazan village Tel Awa explained.

Cremonesi said it was difficult to gather evidence against Hamas because residents were fearful. Civilians feared that if it was known they spoke against the group, they would be harshly punished, he explained.

Eisenberg: Many Didn’t Know Their Homes were Booby-Trapped

Gaza Division Commander Brig.-Gen. Eyal Eisenberg reported on Thursday that Hamas had booby-trapped the homes of many civilians without their knowledge.

Many Gaza civilians were surprised to find explosives hidden under their houses, Eisenberg said, and noted that Hamas had placed roadside bombs throughout the area as well.

                1. Earth to kathlenow, no country in the world would accept Islamic terrorists firing thousands of missiles at them.

Jerusalem has had a Jewish population majority since the late 1850s – that’s 130 years already, before ‘Palestinianism’ was invented:

Jews were expelled from East-Jerusalem by the Jordanian occupation at 1948. They lived in East-Jerusalem for thousands of years. They returned to their homes after Israel liberated the city in 67.

Jerusalem was never in history the capitol of any Arab country.
Jerusalem has only been the Capitol of Israel.

ISRAEL which is defending itself against Pan-Arabism, Arab imperialism and Arabization of the Middle East – that is the “problem you don’t like.

The real problem is global Arab/Moslem insistence to spread hate, violence, wars, terrorism, lies, false accusations against Jews and reducing Jews to subhumans or second class citizens – slaves or servants – without any human rights.

The Palestinians are really Syrians and Egyptians.

The Myth Of The Palestinian People
                  Yehezkel Bin-Nun
                  26 December 2001

Palestinians doubt Blair can deliver,” announces the BBC. “Four Palestinians die in West Bank,” reports CNN. “IDF demolishes building used by Palestinian gunmen,” announces Israel’s government run Channel 1 News. The modern media is filled with stories about the Palestinians, their plight, their dilemmas and their struggles. All aspects of their lives seem to have been put under the microscope. Only one question never seems to be addressed: Who are the Palestinians? Who are these people who claim the Holy Land as their own? What is their history? Where did they come from? How did they arrive in the country they call Palestine? Now that both US President George Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (in direct opposition to the platform he was elected on) have come out in favor of a Palestinian state, it would be prudent to seek answers to these questions. For all we know, Palestine could be as real as Disneyland.

The general impression given in the media is that Palestinians have lived in the Holy Land for hundreds, if not thousands of years. No wonder, then, that a recent poll of French citizens shows that the majority believe (falsely) that prior to the establishment of the State of Israel an independent Arab Palestinian state existed in its place. Yet curiously, when it comes to giving the history of this “ancient” people most news outlets find it harder to go back more than the early nineteen hundreds. CNN, an agency which has devoted countless hours of airtime to the “plight” of the Palestinians, has a website which features a special section on the Middle East conflict called “Struggle For Peace”. It includes a promising sounding section entitled “Lands Through The Ages” which assures us it will detail the history of the region using maps. Strangely, it turns out, the maps displayed start no earlier than the ancient date of 1917. The CBS News website has a background section called “A Struggle For Middle East Peace.’’ Its history timeline starts no earlier than 1897. The NBC News background section called ‘’Searching for Peace’’ has a timeline which starts in 1916. BBC’s timeline starts in 1948.

Yet, the clincher must certainly be the Palestinian National Authority’s own website. While it is top heavy on such phrases as “Israeli occupation” and “Israeli human rights violations” the site offers practically nothing on the history of the so-called Palestinian people. The only article on the site with any historical content is called “Palestinian History – 20th Century Milestones” which seems only to confirm that prior to 1900 there was no such concept as the Palestinian People.

While the modern media maybe short on information about the history of the “Palestinian people” the historical record is not. Books, such as Battleground by Samuel Katz and From Time Immemorial by Joan Peters long ago detailed the history of the region. Far from being settled by Palestinians for hundreds, if not thousands of years, the Land of Israel, according to dozens of visitors to the land, was, until the beginning of the last century, practically empty. Alphonse de Lamartine visited the land in 1835. In his book, Recollections of the East, he writes “Outside the gates of Jerusalem we saw no living object, heard no living sound….” None other than the famous American author Mark Twain, who visited the Land of Israel in 1867, confirms this. In his book Innocents Abroad he writes, “A desolation is here that not even imagination can grace with the pomp of life and action. We reached Tabor safely…. We never saw a human being on the whole journey.” Even the British Consul in Palestine reported, in 1857, “The country is in a considerable degree empty of inhabitants and therefore its greatest need is that of a body of population…”

In fact, according to official Ottoman Turk census figures of 1882, in the entire Land of Israel, there were only 141,000 Muslims, both Arab and non-Arab. This number was to skyrocket to 650,000 Arabs by 1922, a 450% increase in only 40 years. By 1938 that number would become over 1 million or an 800% increase in only 56 years. Population growth was especially high in areas where Jews lived. Where did all these Arabs come from? According to the Arabs the huge increase in their numbers was due to natural childbirth. In 1944, for example, they alleged that the natural increase (births minus deaths) of Arabs in the Land of Israel was the astounding figure of 334 per 1000. That would make it roughly three times the corresponding rate for the same year of Lebanon and Syria and almost four times that of Egypt, considered amongst the highest in the world. Unlikely, to say the least. If the massive increase was not due to natural births, then were did all these Arabs come from?

All the evidence points to the neighboring Arab states of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. In 1922 the British Governor of the Sinai noted that “illegal immigration was not only going on from the Sinai, but also from Transjordan and Syria.” In 1930, the British Mandate -sponsored Hope-Simpson Report noted that “unemployment lists are being swollen by immigrants from Trans-Jordania” and “illicit immigration through Syria and across the northern frontier of Palestine is material.” The Arabs themselves bare witness to this trend. For example, the governor of the Syrian district of Hauran, Tewfik Bey el Hurani, admitted in 1934 that in a single period of only a few months over 30,000 Syrians from Hauran had moved to the Land of Israel. Even British Prime Minister Winston Churchill noted the Arab influx. Churchill, a veteran of the early years of the British mandate in the Land of Israel, noted in 1939 that “far from being persecuted, the Arabs have crowded into the country and multiplied.”

Far from displacing the Arabs, as they claimed, the Jews were the very reason the Arabs chose to settle in the Land of Israel. Jobs provided by newly established Zionist industry and agriculture lured them there, just as Israeli construction and industry provides most Arabs in the Land of Israel with their main source of income today. Malcolm MacDonald, one of the principal authors of the British White Paper of 1939, which restricted Jewish immigration to the Land of Israel, admitted (conservatively) that were it not for a Jewish presence the Arab population would have been little more than half of what it actually was. Today, when due to the latest “intifada” Arabs from the territories under 35 are no longer allowed into pre-1967 Israel to work, unemployment has skyrocketed to over 40% and most rely on European aid packages to survive.

Not only pre-state Arabs lied about being indigenous. Even today, many prominent so-called Palestinians, it turns out, are foreign born. Edward Said, an Ivy League Professor of Literature and a major Palestinian propagandist, long claimed to have been raised in Jerusalem. However, in an article in the September 1999 issue of Commentary Magazine Justus Reid Weiner revealed that Said actually grew up in Cairo, Egypt, a fact which Said himself was later forced to admit. But why bother with Said? PLO chief Yasir Arafat himself, self declared “leader of the Palestinian people”, has always claimed to have been born and raised in “Palestine”. In fact, according to his official biographer Richard Hart, as well as the BBC, Arafat was born in Cairo on August 24, 1929 and that’s where he grew up.

To maintain the charade of being an indigenous population, Arab propagandists have had to do more than a little rewriting of history. A major part of this rewriting involves the renaming of geography. For two thousand years the central mountainous region of Israel was known as Judea and Samaria, as any medieval map of the area testifies. However, the state of Jordan occupied the area in 1948 and renamed it the West Bank. This is a funny name for a region that actually lies in the eastern portion of the land and can only be called “West” in reference to Jordan. This does not seem to bother the majority of news outlets covering the region, which universally refer to the region by its recent Jordanian name.

The term “Palestinian” is itself a masterful twisting of history. To portray themselves as indigenous, Arab settlers adopted the name of an ancient Canaanite tribe, the Phillistines, that died out almost 3000 years ago. The connection between this tribe and modern day Arabs is nil. Who is to know the difference? Given the absence of any historical record, one can understand why Yasser Arafat claims that Jesus Christ, a Jewish carpenter from the Galilee, was a Palestinian. Every year, at Christmas time, Arafat goes to Bethlehem and tells worshippers that Jesus was in fact “the first Palestinian”.

If the Palestinians are indeed a myth, then the real question becomes “Why?” Why invent a fictitious people? The answer is that the myth of the Palestinian People serves as the justification for Arab occupation of the Land of Israel. While the Arabs already possess 21 sovereign countries of their own (more than any other single people on earth) and control a land mass 800 times the size of the Land of Israel, this is apparently not enough for them. They therefore feel the need to rob the Jews of their one and only country, one of the smallest on the planet. Unfortunately, many people ignorant of the history of the region, including much of the world media, are only too willing to help.

It is interesting to note that the Bible makes reference to a fictitious nation confronting Israel. “They have provoked me to jealously by worshipping a non-god, angered me with their vanities. I will provoke them with a non-nation; anger them with a foolish nation (Deuteronomy 32:21).”

On second thought, it may be unfair to compare Palestine to Disneyland. After all, Disneyland really exists.

                2. Giulio Meotti says best how to deal with Palestinian terrorists? Actions

                  Op-Ed: Collective Punishment
                  Giulio Meotti
                  September 24, 2013
There is a form of collective punishment for terror acts that the writer claims is morally justified.

An Israeli soldier, a young, wonderful and smiling Jew, was abducted and executed in Qalqilya by despicable Arabs. Monsters wanted to use the body of that Jew to release another monster jailed in Israel.

During th first Intifada, Arab terrorists from Qalqilya burned Ofra Moses and her small children to death. It was not different from a pogrom.

And it was nothing new. In the years following the creation of the State of Israel, the town of Qalkilya was one of the worst vipers’ nests of Arab genocidal passions.

In 2006 another Jew was torched and dismembered in Qalqilya. His name was Daniel Yaakovi, he was a doctor from the nearby “settlement” of Yakir.

“This is a message of fire — a burning message to the occupation. Killing, burning and fire”, Fatah’s armed wing claimed after the killing. Another Jew had been turned into a burned corpse by Qalqilya’s terrorists.

Qalqilya is a strategic town 12 miles distant from Tel Aviv and less than five minutes from Kfar Saba. Qalqilya is not like more isolated Nablus (Shechem), it is shoulder to shoulder with the pre-1967 Israeli towns.

The city has been called the “Paradise Hotel”, because it was used by suicide terrorists as the jumping off point into Israel.

You don’t become “the terrorists’ hub”, as Qalqilya has been named, without the complicity of the local population and infrastructures. The Palestinian Arabs aren’t
Israel should also erase the houses of the terrorists, confiscate their properties and deport their families.
hostages; they chose terrorism freely, they love killing Jews, so must live with the consequences.

Terror is a collective punishment, Israel’s answer to it must include collective punishment.

Israel should flatten entire neighborhoods of Qalqilya if its Arab residents destroy innocent Jewish lives as happened last week.

Israel should also erase the houses of the terrorists, confiscate their properties and deport their families.

This is what the Allies did during the war, when they didn’t hesitate to impose a collective punishment on the German and Japanese people (Dresden was levelled), while today we like to believe that the State of Israel is facing “individual murderers” and unorganized “fanatics”, and must pardon the Islamic society that nurtures them.

The Arab population of Judea, Samaria and Gaza living in the communities that spawn repeated terror is responsible for that Muslim terrorism. Collective punishment of that population by Israel – when administered in proportion to the evils it is meant to combat – is justified.

When terrorism is perpetrated against the Jewish people, it is justified to wage war against the population from which the terrorists emerged, and that sometimes includes harming civilians who did not actively participate in the terrorist acts themselves.

It doesn’t mean the taking of human lives, but destroying properties and morally subjugating the environment that supports them. This is deterrence.

Protection of human life from barbaric terrorism comes before political correctness. This is what I would say to Israel’s leaders if I were the father of Tomer Hazan or Daniel Yaakovi.

                3. kathlenow, I’m so sorry not enough Israelis were killed for your taste.

Maybe it’s got something to do with the fact that the priority of the Israeli government is to protect its citizens (which is why, for example, building codes since the First Gulf War mandate that all new residences must include a Safe Room that’s almost as good as a bomb shelter, and the Home Front Command holds regular drills, and there are broadcasts on all media telling people they must take shelter when they hear Code Red), whereas the priority of the Hamas government is to kill as many people as possible (and if Gazan civilians get killed because terrorists are using them as human shields, well, that’s all good too because it’s wonderful fodder for the propaganda machine).

You’re also forgetting that a large number of Hamas rockets fall short and kill and injure Gazans. But again, Hamas and their supporters don’t care because it all gets added to the “dead Palestinians” tally. So for Hamas, it’s a win-win.

                4. Oh, and when you wrote: “Palestinians didn’t imigrate to Palestine”… yes, actually, most of them are indeed descendants of immigrants. Although a few had lived in the area for at least part of the year (as nomads) going back a few centuries, most arrived later. Some of the families arrived in the mid 19th century, during the 9-year period that Egypt rebelled against the Ottomans and ruled the area. (The Masri clan, for example, “al-Masri” meaning “the Egyptian”). Others came once the Zionists started coming in greater numbers, because of the improved economic situation.

No, they’re NOT descendants of the Philistines or the Canaanites or whatever.

            2. Hamas has created a corrupt, inept government and a dark society of death that teaches its children to hate and uses women and children as slaves and human shields.
              Thats Gaza for you.

Why does Hamas fire rockets from a school at Israel praying that Israel returns fire and kill some of it’s children. Thats Gaza today.
The Arabs are the only people in the world that go out day by day figuring ways to get their children to die in front of the world press.

Hamas uses boy as human shield

            3. I am not ill informed about Israel. I know my country first hand. I don’t need your propaganda lies and slander to introduce me to my birthplace and her army.

        2. More lies. Israel does not murder. There is no state sanctioned murder of Palestinian civillians. Israel – as much as you don’t want to hear it – is not a barbaric society. That’s why your hero, Ismail Haniyeh, feels quite comfortable sending all his sick relatives to Israel for treatment.

Palestinians kill Israeli civilians with malice aforethought. In the civilized world that’s called murder. Not saying all Palestinians are murderers – of course not. But violence is the accepted way of doing things, and their leadership encourages it.

The only thing you have in your bag of tricks, “kathlenow”, is lies and projection.

        3. 1500 Jews murdered by Palestinian terrorists since Oslo 1993.

Thousands of Israeli civilians have been maimed by Palestinian terrorists since Oslo

This book documents all of it.

A New Shoah: The Untold Story of Israel’s Victims of Terrorism
          Giulio Meotti

Every day in Israel, memorials are held for people killed simply because they were Jews–condemned by the fury of Islamic fundamentalism. A New Shoah is the first book devoted to telling the story of these Israeli terror victims. It centers on a previously unheard oral history of the Middle Eastern conflict from the viewpoint of the Jewish victims and their families.
Ten years ago, Palestinian terrorist groups launched their Second Intifada, resulting in an Israeli “Ground Zero” with 1,500 civilian victims. Israel is a tiny country, and this number would be proportionally equivalent to about 54,000 terror victims in the United States. The hundreds of attacks in Israel, day after day, amount to a sort of “new Shoah,” as Roger Scruton explains in his foreword. Giulio Meotti spoke to many of the Israeli families that have been destroyed by terror attacks on all the ordinary places of everyday life: on buses, kibbutzim, religious places, cafés and restaurants. Many of the survivors told their heartbreaking stories of loss for the first time. In these human fragments lie the raison d’être for the State of Israel, the first country in the world to experience suicide bombings on a massive scale, the fruit of jihadi nihilism.

“At the heart of the Jewish tradition is a metaphysics of radical hope: The world is a good place, and by our efforts we can make it better. Meotti demonstrates that this life-affirming spirit remains alive in modern Israel, and A New Shoah is more than the story of victims of terrorism. It is a tribute to the power of determination and hope”
          The Weekly Standard

“A New Shoah is a labor of love”.
          Commentary

“We have become accustomed to talk blandly of ‘terrorism’ as if it were some sort of abstraction. But Giulio Meotti in meticulous fashion puts human faces on the body count from the organized Palestinian terrorist killing of Israeli civilians–and thereby reminds us that this is not a morally equivalent struggle, but a systematic effort to extinguish Israelis and the civilization that they have created.”
Victor Davis Hanson, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and author of Carnage and Culture

“A necessary book. A magisterial work”.
          National Review

“An important testament to the victims of terror”.
          Jerusalem Post

“An historic work. A must read for its historic significance and current relevance. It is an important work, not just to the Israeli people, but to the world.”
          New York Journal of Books

          “Israel’s Truman Capote”
          Ricochet

“One of the best Jewish books of the year”
          Jewish Ideas Daily

“It’s essential reading to anyone who wants to measure the full human drama underway in the Holy Land”
          George Weigel

“A fascinating look at the relentless attempt to make Israel disappear”
          Worldnetdaily

“With eloquence and compassion, Giulio Meotti puts a human face on the atrocities suffered by nearly two thousand Israelis killed in terrorist incidents.”
Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum and distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution

“I highly recommend this book to anyone who cares about the future of the Jewish State”
          Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein

    2. Its not Palestinian land. It never was Palestinian land.
The Wall was built to protect Israelis from Palestinian Arab racist hate crimes
13 years ago Israel was suffering a 9/11 every week.

Do the Palestinians think they can just murder Jews on buses, pizzeria’s, disco’s, hotels and Israel do nothing?

      1. Yes, Ken, that is exactly what they expect. They miss the old homeless, powerless Jew who was at the mercy of the whims of their hosts.

  15. “What is not reported by the media is the large orange sign posted in Hebrew, Arabic, and English outside the entrance to every single Arab Muslim town, city and village throughout the Palestinian Authority: Restricted Area! Israelis Keep Out!”

Hahah. These signs were placed their by Israel, not by Palestinians.

  16. I am an ex Zionist and I do not agree with what you are saying I left Zionism because its a bad & racist dealogy. I could only believe you jumped to the other side because you will be paid huge amounts.
But again you will get fed up by selling your soul for money. This time will you say “The Israeli’s lied to me” you made money from your first book. Now your making lots of money but you wont be happy for long..im glad im over being a zionist..

  17. Hamoudi Gharib

Linda, the last thing I meant to tell you before I turn and walk away is the following ,.: if you can sleep at night well rested and your conscience is free too , then go ahead and continue what you started , if its the truth you seek I hope you discover it . you must be pleased that you are generating that much chat and comments , I no longer care for what you have written about me and my family simply because people know . I am not gonna regret that I’ve met you . you chose this new life and your path is only yours to walk . you will find out the truth along the road you’ve chosen . I’m sorry for you I really am . My name is Hamoudi and I’m never hiding I’m available to any question . you make me look like an intolerant arragoant piece of scum , did you also feel that way when you were in a coma and I changed your diapers so you never feel violated ? Was I a scum because I fought the world to get you the medical care you needed? Was I stupid then ? Dare I say I’m awake now too ?? I wish you no harm , we went our separate ways , don’t push me into the corner again .

  18. I’m trying to let this matter go , but please please never take that to be weakness on my part , I will not sit back and let you spread lies about my family and people . remember where we both live and rest assured I will go through the right channel to expose who you really are . for the last time let this matter go , you want to be an advocate for Israeli human rights that is your business but leave me and my family out of it .

A Story of How Deep the Palestinians Have Sunk Into the Moral Abyss
    Dr. Arieh Eldad
    May 20, 2011

I was instrumental in establishing the Israeli National Skin Bank, which is the largest in the world. The National Skin Bank stores skin for every day needs as well as for war time or mass casualty situations.

This skin bank is hosted at the Hadassah Ein Kerem University hospital in Jerusalem where I was the Chairman of plastic surgery. This is how I was asked to supply skin for an Arab woman from Gaza , who was hospitalized in Soroka Hospital in Beersheva, after her family burned her. Usually, such atrocities happen among Arab families when the women are suspected of having an affair.

We supplied all the needed Homografts for her treatment. She was successfully treated by my friend and colleague, Prof. Lior Rosenberg and discharged to return to Gaza. She was invited for regular follow-up visits to the outpatient clinic in Beersheva.

One day she was caught at a border crossing wearing a suicide belt. She meant to explode herself in the outpatient clinic of the hospital where they saved her life. It seems that her family promised her that if she did that, they would forgive her.

This is only one example of the war between Jews and Muslims in the Land of Israel. It is not a territorial conflict. This is a civilizational conflict, or rather a war between civilization & barbarism.

Bibi (Netanyahu) gets it, Obama does not.

The official government-controlled WAFA News Agency gave major prominence to the funeral of the Sbarro bomber (“martyr”} and to the messages of PA officials inciting to fresh acts of murder. Only in Arabic, naturally.

He exploded in August 2001 inside a [Sbarro] restaurant filled with Jews, and died a happy young man, perhaps even an ecstatic one. His life, in accordance with the insane religious dogmas that had been pumped into his head, had reached its point of fulfillment.

    Aftermath of Sbarro bombing Photo

Our post made the point that representatives of the major segments of Palestinian Arab society took part in last week’s funeral.

If you were looking for moderates – say, the so-called moderates of the Mahmoud Abbas regime – they were indeed there but they were not moderating anything. When it comes to murder and incitement to murder of Israelis and of Jews, they are not moderate; they are enthusiastic. In last Wednesday’s funeral procession in Tubas, they participated, heart and soul, to ensure the strongest possible message of support, encouragement, adulation for acts of calculated murder like the one in which the dead human bomb had engaged, and that stole the life of our 15 year old daughter Malki. They amplified this message of hatred and jihad via the official Palestinian Arab state media, as did the Hamas regime in Gaza. They wanted everyone to know – at least, everyone who speaks Arabic.

As for publishing the same news in other languages, they were much less interested. Try (just as one random example) finding any mention on the English-language, Bethlehem-based, high profile European-funded Maan News Agency website. But Maan’s Arabic side [here] has all the death-cult worship an Arabic reader with an interest in such things could want. Interesting, no?

We received some feedback that suggested this characterization was unfair. They said there are voices in the Palestinian Arab world that are as sickened as people like us are by the unconcealed blood-lust of Hamas, of Islamic Jihad, of Fatah, of the Palestinian Authority and of Mahmoud Abbas.

So here’s an invitation for anyone who has such evidence to send us public, published statements in the Arabic language, in which Palestinian Arab voices condemn what sickens the rest of the world: the process of turning psychopaths like the human bomb who murdered our daughter Malki into martyrs, heroes, figures to be emulated.

    Over to you.

Send what you have to [email protected] or add them to the comments below. We’ll publish what we receive here. (Remember – in Arabic. We’ll take care of the translating into English.)

  21. Michael Burch

Linda, I wonder if you now think the sad and frightened children you taught in Gaza are part of a “propaganda” campaign? I find that hard to believe. We have to look at the big picture. If you had a Palestinian husband who was abusive, and if some Israeli Jews treated you better, that doesn’t change the fact that millions of completely innocent Palestinian children have been denied the most basic human rights by Israel. You lived among the children and taught them. You loved them and they loved you. Will you now turn your backs on them and pretend that their plight is not really so bad, after all?

      1. Michael Burch

Of course Palestinian children are afraid of Israeli soldiers. Even Jewish peace activists are afraid of the IDF. Read what Omer Goldman, the daughter of a high-ranking Mossad officer, has said about her treatment by the IDF. Read what Miko Peled, the son of a famous Israeli general, has written. Read what Moshe Dayan’s daughter has said.

        1. Yeah, the kids look positively petrified as they shake their fists and scream obscenities at the soldiers. Do you think they’d dare do that to, say, a Syrian soldier … and live to tel the tale? LOL!

          1. Michael Burch

Isn’t it odd that Israel can only compare itself to the worst regimes, but never to the civilized nations where minorities have equality, including Jews? Avraham Burg made the point that when Zionists travel to the US, they become fervent believers in the equal rights of minorities, since they are in the minority. But when they set foot in Palestine, they insist that Jews must have special rights. That is obviously a great hypocrisy, and it is wildly unfair to all the completely innocent Palestinian children who have been denied full equality. So of course they have every right to express their displeasure with Israeli Jews, who have appointed themselves superior rights.

            1. No, Israel can compare herself to the best of the best in this world. No other nation would tolerate what Israel puts up with daily, not even the U.S. Arabs have full rights in Israel – you know that. That’s why Arabs can vote, sit in the Knesset, own homes, own businesses, go to university, become doctors, become supreme court justices, enter (and win) Israeli reality show competitions, etc, etc, etc.. Do you want the Palestinian Arabs in PA controlled territories to also have those rights in Israel? Do you want Canadians to have voting rights in the U.S., or the UK, or Sweden? You don’t have a cogent point, Burch.

              1. Michael Burch

Surely you know better. The Palestinians in Gaza are victims of ethnic cleansing. In 1948 Israel destroyed hundreds of their villages and stole their land. Palestinians in the West Bank are still being ethnically cleansed, via the euphemistic and diabolical “settlement expansion.” Arabs who are citizens of Israel do not have equal rights. They can’t own most of the land. They can’t marry whomever they please. If they marry someone Israel disapproves of, the families can be split apart. Palestinian water is being diverted to Jewish swimming pools and lawns, so that Palestinians have to pay for bottled water. This is racism at its most grotesque, reminiscent of the early stages of the Holocaust, when Jews were ethnically cleansed and subjected to apartheid.

                1. Michael Burch, how do you classify what happened in east Jerusalem (including the Jewish Quarter) and the Etzion Bloc in 1948?

                  1. Michael Burch

I would call it a reaction to the intentions of the militant Zionists, who set up three “transfer committees” and carefully planned a strategy of ethnic cleansing. This can clearly be seen in the diaries of David Ben Guiron and Yossef Wieta, the director of the third transfer committee. When people know that they are slated to be ethnically cleansed, of course they resist. Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Gandhi and other intellectuals pointed out that what the militant Zionists were doing was bound to result in hostilities.

  22. Blaine Pitcher

Have you lost your mind Linda. I’m sure the children you spent three days with in a place called Gaza are impressed. Even if your husband abused you it doesn’t give you the right to clump 1.8 million displaced people with him. Do you know DV IS A LIVE AND WE’LL IN THE OPT committed by the very people you woke up next to. Go back to sleep. Wtf….
