Anti-Israel DouchebloggerTM Richard Silverstein recently hosted some BDSHole talk and just posted the video.
I won’t suggest you watch the whole thing (I didn’t), but El Doucherino provides some (unintentionally) humorous moments.
For a start, check out the shirt blouse. Another crime against fashion.
Then there’s the schnorring for money (0:58), complete lack of organization (1:08), weird-ass expression and sound (1:47), complete lack of organization (1:48), wax-on wax-off (3:05), evil laugh (4:48), screw-up (5:57), world’s most underwhelming invitation to speak (6:30), another evil laugh (1:05:40), getting corrected and backtracking (1:09:50)
It’s good to see Silverstein found something else to fail at.
Silverstein’s latest post (“IDF failures continue”) is comical in its evilness regarding how Israel getting attacked on different fronts are all Israel’s fault. It’s like these terrorists have no agency whatsoever, almost like they’re hail or something and Israel didn’t prepare the people enough.
Dave, This is off the topic, but how come you stopped sending me your blog? I really miss it.
Not sure I know what you mean. I don’t send my blog to anyone. Do you mean you don’t receive updates via a subscription mail?
Does anyone know how many people actually bothered to turn up at this non-event?
as he makes sure not to show the crowd, probably not many
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day. From 1:29:00 Dick makes a great point. BDS is being used as tool of the defeated Israeli liberal left who have come to the end of its road and with all their talk of democracy realize that their voter pool is diminishing and their once permanent position of power is permanently lost. The only hope they have of returning to power is by enlisting outside help in the form of BDS. Like much of the speeches in this video BDS has nothing to do with Palestinians. it about “changing” Israel.
joel benin is the perfect example of the fraud of academia
Dave, a link to your blog had been posted on The Telegraph 🙂

Thanks Gaia, I wrote about that blog post here:

didnt anyone notice that within 10 secs benin the fraud (and stanford should be ashamed that he is employed by them) totally destroyed the idea that “palestine” is an actual nation, when he noted that the arab league wanted what was left of palestine (after most became jordan) be made part of southern syria?
not even benin the fraud realized that….because he is a phony historian
you see, a real historian would have noted that only a tiny minority of arabs assisted the brits in fighting the ottoman’s, as not a single one actually needed to, as the ottoman empire was on the brink of collapse, with or without ww1
btw, what we are seeing happen in iraq is the fall of the last vestiges of the brit and french colonial enterprise
the free world is fearful that this unrest will also topple the jordanian regime…..too bad….its doomed too, as it is simply a construct of the brits evil colonial plan

Which makes sense. George Antonius was on record as stating that an Arab state embracing Egypt, the Fertile Crescent, and the Arabian peninsula should not be a goal because the history of the region had revealed that political formations which attempted to embrace both Egypt and points east proved to be unstable and prone to fissure. The Maghreb states each have a signature Arabic dialect and had local dynasties which had been dispossessed or placed under European direction. The geomorphology and climate of the Arabian peninsula is quite distinct from that of the Fertile Crescent, there were a passel of ruling houses in Arabia and a mess of signature dialects (a number of which are unintelligible to Levantine speakes).
When you’ve bracketed out the Turkish, Kurdish, and Persian populations, you notice that the Arab zones in the Fertile Crescent have three spectra of dialects and two concentrated populations of minority confessions. Given the wretched internal fissures Iraq and Lebanon have been subject to in the last century, you can see retrospectively that a state which embraced those localities which were modally Sunni Muslim and where the Levantine dialects were the preferred vernacular would have been the most all encompassing political entity which could have been prudently erected.
When you look mandatory Palestine and the Transjordan as they were in 1946, you notice that most of the metropolitan centers are nestled in areas where Jews are thick on the ground. The exceptions were Nazareth (in a zone which remains modally Arab to this day) and Amman (over the river in the Transjordan). The big important towns in “Arab Palestine” outside of Nazareth ranged from 9,000 to 38,000 in population. A sovereign polity with a settlement hierarchy truncated to that degree would have been peculiar, though you can find examples of insular states which are like that.
Addendum: if you look at the arid and sparsely populated zones where the eastern Bedawi dialects were modal (Egypt’s Red Sea cost, the Sinai less the canal zone, the Negev, and the Transjordan), you see that the few towns are in population of a similar range in 1946, about 8,000 to 33,000. Amman’s population per one source was 65,000 in 1946, making it the only city.
