BBC’s Willcox Reminds Us: A French Jew Is Ultimately A Jew

“Perspective” is today, often interchangeable with “narrative.” It’s a neat trick that allows one to say any old thing; a lie, propaganda, and call it “a different perspective.” That is apparently a favored journalistic device for Tim Willcox of the BBC. Willcox interviewed Chava, the French daughter of Polish Holocaust survivors, and as she was comparing the recent spate of anti-Semitic terror to the growth of Nazism in the Europe of the 1930’s he interrupted her, inserting this statement, “Many critics though, of Israel’s policy would suggest that the Palestinians have suffered hugely at Jewish hands, as well.”

With this statement, Willcox introduces a new topic, attempting to draw a parallel between two unrelated ideas, one of which is something that actually happened on several recent occasions: anti-Semitic terror in France in which Jews were killed for being Jewish, and one of which is based on anti-Israel propaganda and asks the world to accept that Israel causes Arab suffering, which is simply a lie.

Willcox asks Chava to conflate the murder of Jews with the imaginary cruelty of Israel against its Arab population.

More than this, he suggests that this imaginary cruelty against Arabs “at Jewish hands” is the catalyst of the recent murder of French Jews by Arabs in France.

It doesn’t end there. In reality, Willcox is asking Chava to admit that the Jews of Paris, as Brian put it, had it coming to them.  They DESERVE to be attacked and killed in their synagogues, supermarkets, and places of work wherever they are in the world. Because to Willcox, Jews are Jews wherever they are. Jews in France therefore bear the onus for the actions of Jews in Israel and everywhere else. A Jew is a Jew is a Jew and nationality has nothing to do with it. A French Jew is ultimately a Jew.

Chava tries to get things back on track and finish her thought by saying that the two issues (Nazi Europe/Arab war on Israel) bear no relationship, however Willcox interrupts her once again, saying,  “But you understand, everything is seen from different perspectives?”

And here you have it: the truth doesn’t matter to Willcox. What matters is the narrative. He has chosen this narrative because he LIKES this narrative. He LIKES to paint the Jew evil. He likes to lump them all together in one neat bundle. He enjoys creating excuses for the violent deaths of Jews at the hands of Muslims, whom he sees as united with his European ethic of Jew-hatred.

It’s a neat bundle because we say “Israel” instead of “Jews.” And now that everyone has accepted that the two words are synonyms, it is now possible to say “Jew” when you mean “Israel.”

Hence Willcox speaks of “Jewish hands” rather than “Israeli hands.”

Chava is the perfect shill for Willcox to raise the ante for this age-old narrative because her English sucks, frankly. While she is stumbling around searching for the words, he can interrupt at will, superimposing his ugly false Jew-hating narrative atop her story, her history, the story of the Jews, don’t you know, through the ages. Just as Willcox’s lies have their origins in ancient and not so ancient history.

Think Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Now it’s fine with me that this comes out now, this all-encompassing, no-holds-barred Jew-hatred by that bastion of world media, the BBC. I want Chava to know that ultimately, a Jew is a Jew is a Jew, no matter where he or she lands, in France, or in America. I want Chava to know that nothing has changed since the 1930’s—that EUROPE has not changed. That Jew hatred has not changed.

The fate of her parents is the fate she now faces. It comes in a different guise this time. Instead of red and black swastikas, it comes dressed as Islam. It is Kristallnacht all the same.

Chava, you will always be a Jew and those who hate you will always be many and cruel.

The way these things start is always the same. Some Jews, the smart ones, leave immediately. Others think, “This happens to other people in other towns on television and far away.”

These people stay.

And then it becomes more and more difficult to leave.

The borders close. The countries impose quotas. Money and property are confiscated.

I am not making this up. It is what happens, what has happened, again and again throughout history.

Chava, right now you can still leave. And you have a place to go. You have Israel.

THEY lump you with Israel. You might as well BE in Israel, making us strong, building our numbers, living in your indigenous territory, the only home we have worldwide.

It’s time to leave, Chava. Willcox is nobody special. Unless you prefer to see him as a sign from God that IT IS TIME TO LEAVE.

You will never be able to forget that you are a Jew because people like Willcox will invariably remind you. It doesn’t matter who you marry or where you live or even whether you convert. You will be a Jew.

You might as well be a Jew in Israel.

Come home, Chava.

Come home.
