Israeli tennis prodigy Yshai Oliel has made the final of the boy’s singles at the Australian Open. It’s a fantastic effort for the fourth seed who is one of the most promising tennis players on the circuit.

He will play 15th seed, Hungarian Zsombor Piros in tomorrow’s final.

Dudi Sela has waved the Israeli flag for so long and he’s now 31, so it is wonderful for Israeli tennis fans to have the next generation to cheer on.

Oliel won the junior Orange bowl twice and last year won the boys doubles at the French Open. At last year’s US Open, he lost in the semi-finals of the boys singles so this is a real step up for him.

Israel has a Davis Cup next week against Portugal in Lisbon. Oliel hasn’t been named in the squad, but he may be there to soak up the spirit.

Yshai, we’re so proud of you and looking forward to cheering you on for many years to come!!
