Israeli Chef Makes Semifinals For Prestigious US Award

The James Beard Foundation Awards are annual awards presented by the James Beard Foundation for excellence in cuisine, culinary writing, and culinary education in the United States.

This year, Michael Solomonov, of Zahav restaurant in Philadelphia, has been named as one of the Restaurant and Chef Awards semifinalists for 2017.

This is what makes the news Israellycool-worthy: Zahav is an Israeli restaurant, and Michael was born in Israel (Open their website, the Israeliness is not subtle!)

He also strikes a hell of a pose.

Best of luck to Michael and Zahav!

Update: I didn’t even realize I have blogged about Michael before.
