Best Israel Advocacy Blog

';

Aussie Dave

To be considered an Israel Advocacy Blog, a blog must deal extensively with issues relating to Israel, in the context of promoting Israel and Zionism, or presenting Israel’s side of the conflict. This includes blogs written by Jews and non-Jews alike.

Please nominate your candidates for Best Israel Advocacy Blog by leaving the name and URL (with hyperlink) of your nomination in the comments to this post.

    Israellycool, of course!

Thanks..but Israellycool is ineligible (see updates to nomination rules)

Charles Johnson is not Jewish, and this blog rascim reflects poorly on Jews and on Israel.

  5. Gravatar

Read the rules for this category. You needn’t be Jewish.

And for the record, Charles does much great hasbara. In my view, he is a worthy nominee.

    Fine

    Re: LGF’s Rascism

I fail to understand how Israel’s interests are served by a blog that makes right-wing Israelis look like monsters. They aren’t monsters (obviously) but you wouldn’t know it from reading LGF.

We can let the voters decide. I trust the people.

I think they should be eligible - they certianly promote Zionism - or Neo-Zionism anyway.

LGF–Not only best; but definitely most intelligent.

  21. Gravatar

I nominate LittleGreenFootballs. It is pro Israel in a non-sectarian way and I have found passionate, intelligent discussion to be the rule rather than the exception there.

BTW, for those who ascribe racism to Charles Johnson: Please either offer proof in the form of a post by Charles OR read the DISCLAIMER that appears at the top of every thread discussion and then kindly retract your accusations.

  22. Gravatar

Charles Johnson is tremendous. If there is a bit of racism on the blog, it is from a small number of posters, not from Charles. He actually presented the disengagement plan in a fairly positive light.

  23. Gravatar

Furthermore, gratitude is a basic Jewish value. He has done tremendous things by providing a popular resource (one of the most widely read blogs) to counter all the anti-Israel bias in the media.

  24. Gravatar

Do you read little green footballs? It is a wonderful advocacy for Israel… And yes, it is against the Pece now and other idiots who have conspired with the sonei Israel! You would think that Jews would have learned that the left is their enemy by now!

Charles Johnson, of LGF, has been recognized by Arutz 7 for his extraordinary and consistent support of Israel.

He offers us, as Jews, a place to post that is like a second home, and by just reading LGF, anyone can see by the choice of articles that it is a strongly pro-Israel site.

Charles is both a mensch, and the kind of friend we, as Jews, are blessed to have.

‘Racist’? If recognizing the threat that islam poses to all of us, Christian or Jew is racist, then those who so glibly make this accusation are either PC or living in a cave. Did any who say this about Charles Johnson and/or LGF ever hear of the Intifada or 9/11?

  28. Gravatar

BlueStar PR is a new twist on the blog idea combining free, downloadable pro-Israel posters and fliers with existing blog functionality. The site is also devoid of advertising and commercialism.

:PDid any who say this about Charles Johnson and/or LGF ever hear of the Intifada or 9/11::

That says it all. Any horrible thing you say about Arabs and Muslim is justfied because of the “intafad and 9/11?”

Hasbara, to my mind, is more than justifying Israeli actions by telling lots of angry lies about other people.

I am not opposed to 99 percent of israeli actions, but don’t justify them via slander and call it Hasbara

  30. Gravatar

Very well said. Charles is definitely pro-Israel and he might have one or two post’s that are anti Jewish but that is a poster, not LGF

  31. Gravatar

You mean it is a nasty place for nasty Jews to go and say nasty things about non-Jews.

  32. Gravatar

  34. Gravatar

LGF “racist”?- against whom? An unfair comment from someone who clearly does not read the posts. LGF is the most honest, admirably courageous blog on the net. Yes, Charles Johnson who (as a bonus) is outstandingly articulate and funny, shines a bright spotllight on Israel’s enemies and calls on all of us to examine the root causes of hatred and violence in the Middle East - Islam and its culture of violence and death.

  35. Gravatar

“Charles Johnson is not Jewish, and this blog rascim reflects poorly on Jews and on Israel.”

Charles Johnson isn’t Jewish, that is true, is that a requirement to be an advocate of Israel?

“blog rascim”? I don’t speak HHebrew, is that a pejorative in Hebrew (it’s not English). I f you are talking about racism, I ask what race is he prejudiced against? Some of his commenters may be racist, but he doesn’t evidence it.

  36. Gravatar

Certainly a cut above the rest…IsraPundit is a very serious and informed blog!

  37. Gravatar

Please. The comparison is incredibly stupid. Someone managed to find a grand total of 14 quotes which they present with no context and liken them too 14 quotes of Nazi officials. Aside from being incredibly stupid, it is nasty and trivializes the horror of the Holocaust.

Former President Mahathir, when he was still the leader of Malaysia, a major, modern country, stated as follows in a speech to the 10th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference on October 16, 2003:

    http://thestar.com.my/oic/story.asp?file=/2003/10/16/oic/20031016123438

“We are actually very strong. 1.3 billion people cannot be simply wiped out. The Europeans killed six million Jews out of 12 million. But today the Jews rule this world by proxy. They get others to fight and die for them.”

“The enemy will probably welcome these proposals and we will conclude that the promoters are working for the enemy. But think. We are up against a people who think. They survived 2000 years of pogroms not by hitting back, but by thinking. They invented and successfully promoted Socialism, Communism, human rights and democracy so that persecuting them would appear to be wrong, so they may enjoy equal rights with others. With these they have now gained control of the most powerful countries and they, this tiny community, have become a world power. We cannot fight them through brawn alone. We must use our brains also.”

Charles Johnson at http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com had this to say in response to President Mahathir’s speech:

    http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=8565

“Here is the actual text of Mahathir Mohamad’s speech to the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Read it and see for yourself just how thoroughly the media is whitewashing the insanity and hatred on display at this meeting.

For example, one statement you will see widely reported in Western media, because it sounds reasonable:

The Quran tells us that when the enemy sues for peace we must react positively. True the treaty offered is not favourable to us. But we can negotiate.

What the media is not telling you: the words that followed:

The Prophet did, at Hudaibiyah. And in the end he triumphed.

The Treaty of Al-Hudaybiyya was an agreement made by the Prophet Muhammad with the Meccan tribe of Quraish’which the prophet broke as soon as his armies were strong enough to attack and conquer the Quraish.

Read the whole thing; there is absolutely nothing moderate about this speech. In many ways, it is tantamount to a declaration of war.”

If it is racist to be against an ideology (Islamism) that is bigoted and intolerant, then I am a racist too. Besides, how can being against an ideology be racist? Muslims are not a “race”.

Charles Johnson and Little Green Footballs are great friends of Israel and Western Civilization. They are the enemies of bigotry and intolerance. If Muslims were not bigoted and intolerant and constantly engaging in terrorist acts, then Little Green Footballs would not exist, there would be no call for it! Consequently, I nominate Little Green Footballs for the Best Israel Advocacy Blog.

Little Green Footballs (LGF) is a great nomination in this category. LGF is the reason I am now informed on Israel and am a very pro-Israel American. I’m Christian, and I’ve long been interested in Judaism, but until Rathergate brought me to LGF, I knew little about Israel. Now I am a staunch supporter. LGF has informed, intelligent threads on this subject every day, with mostly thoughtful posts. Defamatory posts or inflamed ranting is shot down quickly on LGF. Thanks for the opportunity to vote for LGF. Catttt, Baltimore MD

Do you REALLY think that Charles Johnson is the only person who told the truth about that speech? Charles like to lie about the media, too, I see.

  45. Gravatar

Excuse me? “Charles like to lie about the media too, I see.” (sic) Where is it that Charles has lied about the media in the above post? Also, did I say that Charles was the only one who “told the truth” about Mahathir’s speech? In fact, I am having a lot of trouble understanding exactly what is your point. What is your point anyway?

  46. Gravatar

LGF - If Charles Johnson is not a friend of Israel then Israel has no friends.

For those that think otherwise - you can’t have read LGF.

Actually, we’re not affiliated with any party or movement at Jewlicious and anybody is welcome to come and express their opinions. As a group blog, we have people with a range of views on any given topic. On the other hand, we do admit to being staunch Zionists, and to shamelessly driving traffic by posting pictures of attractive people, er, I mean posting quality posts.

1.3 billion Muslims? Really? That number seems to be growing by the day. I wonder just how high it will have to mount before popular credulity is strained in the West.
