You have to feel sorry for the Spanish. They live very close to the French, believe that the best way to react to terror is appeasement, and they elected Mr Bean as their Prime Minister.

 

 

Now I see that he is one of the less goofy looking politicians that they have.

    Well, these brand-new democracies can be ugly. These are the powerbrokers from the old order when looks didn’t matter, much as the Soviets inherited a bunch of Communist politicians.

    Spain is in good hands. I’d rather have politics that looks like Mr. Bin, then the ones that act like one.
