    The New Bobcatmeat Goldthwait?

    Monday, January 8th, 2007

hilaly%20comedy The New Bobcatmeat Goldthwait? He might not be a stand-up guy, but he might just be a stand-up comedian.

Controversial Muslim cleric Sheik Taj al-Din al-Hilaly and television personality Naomi Robson are among the big winners in this year’s Ralph Magazine Awards.

The blokes’ mag has named the controversal cleric the Funny Man of the Year, edging out film characters Kenny - the portaloo cleaner-cum-working class hero - and Borat the Kazakhstani journalist.

The magazine jokingly said the sheik’s “absurdist comedy”, comparing immodestly dressed women to uncovered meat, had been misinterpreted as a “sexist rant”.

“One day we’ll translate his comic observations properly and recognise him as the Islamic Seinfeld he really is,” the magazine writes.

    Or the Islamic Michael Richards.

    He’s a riot.

    Monday, January 8th, 2007
  • The only thing Israel’s secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities are lacking is the “secret” component. Mind you, the Sunday Times newspaper - in which these plans were disclosed - is lacking the “credibility” component.
  • The Labor Party’s Ophir Pines-Paz has made Ehud Barak an offer he will refuse.
  • Fatah’s Muhammad Dahlan states the bleeping obvious. Not that his mob are much better.
  • A foreign news photographer abducted by palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip has been released. Punxsutawney Phil was unavailable for comment.
  • Who needs Tupac when you have Teapacks.
