Getting Jibby With It
';Today’s the final day for voting in the first round of the 2007 Jewish and Israeli Blog (JIB) awards.
I’ve made no secret of the fact that I would like this blog to make it in to the final round of voting, just so it can enjoy some increased exposure. After that, I really don’t care, since the “award” is not actually worth anything, and is not something I need as validation of what I am doing.
If you would like to help in my efforts to spread the word to a larger audience, please vote for Israellycool in the following categories.
Best Overall Blog
Best Humor Blog
Best Pro-Israel Advocacy Blog
Best Right Wing Political Blog
Best Contribution / Blog that Made a Difference

Of course, by you getting nominated in multiple categories, you can possibly end up pushing other blogs out of the running in their only category…..Nu-nu. (Not to pick on you - Dry Bones is the most egregious example of taking the awards way too seriously at the expense of the entire JBlogosphere, which ends up missing the point of the awards altogether. I’m not really upset - the amount of extra traffic from this year’s awards has been negligible, so far.)

at the expense of the entire JBlogosphere
This has always been my big problem with the awards. Some people are so intent on winning they forget why the awards exist.

Did you at least get some traffic from the link to your post on the AFP photographer?
Truth be told, I have not been counting how many times each other blogger appears in the nominations. Having spent the last few years dedicated to promoting other blogs (that is why I even started the awards) and getting maligned for it, I decided this year I will promote Israellycool a bit. I certainly won’t apologize for it.
But I do hope that by encouraging my readers to look around at the other blogs while they go to the voting site, they will find some new reads. I have mentioned this at least 3 times, and have certainly not taken the whole awards seriously. Certainly no more seriously than you

The JIBS site was a bit user-unfriendly this year… voting was confusing and I am no computer idiot either!
Good luck to all the participants… esp. Aussie Dave!!!
