Yankees fans were stunned after beloved “God Bless America” singer Ronan Tynan got himself tossed from tonight’s American League Championship game for making a nasty anti-Semitic remark.

The famous Irish tenor — who has become a iconic staple of New York Yankees playoff games for much of this decade — admitted to making the slur Thursday to a Jewish woman who was looking to buy an a apartment in his East Side building, a team spokeswoman said.

His gig singing for last night game was then cancelled. It was a move that even Yankees fans who loved the singer agreed with.

“That’s an ignorant thing to do, he’s an idiot,” added fan Vicky Bongiovanni, 53, of East Hanover, N.J. “He had a privilege that he could go out there and sing and I think it’s good they took it away from him.”

The alleged slur came while Dr. Gabrielle Gold-von Simson, an NYU Medical center pediatrician, was inspecting the building with a real estate agent and they bumped into the golden-throated team singer.

The agent joked to Tynan: “Don’t worry they are not Red Sox fans.”

And for some reason Tynan responded by saying: “I don’t care about that, as long as they are not Jewish.”

The burst of bigotry stunned Gold-von Simson, who said “Why is that?”

According to the team, Tynan said that a lot of “scary” Jewish ladies had been looking at the apartment before.

Outraged, Gold-von Simson, sent an angry e-mail to the Yankees yesterday, describing the incident to the team.

The team got in touch with Tynan as soon as they could, said spokeswoman Alice McGillion.

“He admitted that the contents of the e-mail were true,” McGillion said.

“He said it was a bad joke. So we told him that was absolutely intolerable behavior and he needed to apologize.

“He said he spoke to the woman an apologized.”

Despite the apology and the claims it was all a joke, the Yankees benched Tynan from his normal duties of singing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch.

McGillion said that the tenor is not an Yankees employee, and there are “no plans for him to sing” for the team for the rest of the playoffs.

Tynan could not be reached for comment. But he told WNBC news: “A lot of my friends are Jewish. It’s something misfortunate, I was too stupid with my mouth.”

He said it was all a “big misunderstanding” and said “I’m not anti-Semitic and I have never been in my life.”

Message to those accused of being anti-Semitic: “Some of my best friends/a lot of my friends are Jewish” never helps your cause. Better to STFU in the first place.

A Perth man will stand trial in the District Court for allegedly uploading an anti-Semitic video YouTube.

Brendon Lee O’Connell, 38, of Maylands, has been charged under racial vilification laws for allegedly positing the anti-Semitic film in which he is seen in front of Perth’s Bell Tower and at a South Perth supermarket.

In May, the State Security Investigation group charged Mr O’Connell, who is accused of making anti-Semitic statements during the video, with carrying out conduct intending to incite racial animosity or harassment.

The maximum penalty for the offence is 14 years’ jail or fines of up to $24,000.

Mr O’Connell today appeared the Perth Magistrates Court and pleaded not guilty during the committal mention hearing. His bail was continued and he will appear before the District Court on November 20.

Mr O’Connell walked out of court video taping the waiting media.

I am a bit curious as to why your focus seems to be in debating a Jew on camera, when I would have thought that given your impending imprisonment, you should be focusing on other things. Like practicing how to bend over and pick up a bar of soap. But then again, you don’t seem to be the type of person who thinks things through.

To answer your initial question, yes, this is the perfect opportunity to humiliate you and have a laugh at your expense. After all, here you are making claims that “Judaics” are trying to take over the world, murder non-Jews, and are hiding in your roof, while seeing yourself on a mission to expose our “utter hate and racism.” (Paging Alanis Morissette). You can’t spell to save your life, and you honestly believe that someone would find engaging in some intellectual debate with you to be worthwhile or even remotely challenging. It’s comedy gold.

You lost me at your first sentence. I have not “re-editted” your video (nor have I re-edited it). I don’t really have the time, considering all the Elder of Zion meetings and planning for the next version of Swine Flu. All I did was post it in its entirety before it was taken down, which was enough to convince most people that you are indeed a mean, nasty man. Not very smart either.

A journalist from Holland who linked Jews to the recent outbreak of flu pandemics drew heavy criticism from a prominent Dutch Jewish organization earlier this week, that claimed her words were tantamount to anti-Semitic blood libels.

Ronny Naftaniel, who heads the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel (CIDI) – an local anti-Semitism watchdog – said that this is the first time he has heard such claims from Rover, and added that based on her words, “she does not seem to be right in her head.”

Tales of Jews spreading disease “is nothing new,” he told Haaretz, “and stories of Jews poisoning the water wells are known from many centuries ago and her words are giving rise to that anti-Semitism.”
