This coming from someone who boasts of having a a degree in Hebrew Literature and proficiency in the language.

Just so we are clear: the two men (I use the term loosely) were members of Hamas – a terror organization – who worked for their propaganda television operation, Al-Aqsa TV.

They were as much journalists as..Richard Silverstein is a journalist.

Of course, Silverstein’s support of Hamas operatives should serve as no surprise, since it is not the first time he has defended Hamas terrorists or otherwise tried to minimize/explain away their crimes.

What is even more disturbing than Silverstein’s unqualified acceptance of the notion the film debunks the Jewish exile – despite the fact he has never seen it – is his characterization of the Jewish exile after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70CE as a “Zionist myth.” This, despite the fact it is part of established Jewish history, as mentioned in the Talmud. Even the most vehement of Jewish anti-Israel, anti Zionist groups like Neturei Karta do not deny this exile.

You can form your own conclusions. It looks to me like Silverstein is not “merely” attacking Israel, but is attacking Judaism.

If you haven’t seen this already, this is the most frightening and vivid footage at the scene I have found.

Notice what appears to be an Israeli flag around 2:05. I found that very symbolic, since we have dealt with similar attacks for a long time now.

We had a personal connection to the attack: my wife’s uncle was at the finish line when the attack occurred. We immediately checked Facebook for updates and learned quickly he was thankfully fine.

While we don’t know for sure who the culprits are, reports indicate a person of interest – a Saudi national in the United States on a student visa – is being guarded at a local hospital.

Yep.

Meanwhile, here is a response to the attacks I thought you should all see.

I will post updates during the day if I find time to interrupt our Israeli Independence Day festivities (yeah, the show must go on for us, but this news has really affected us over here).

Hours following a pair of blasts at the Boston Marathon that left 2 dead and up to 100 wounded according to reports, a chief doctor at the hospital where many of the patients are being treated credited Israelis with teaching his team how to respond to such disastrous attacks.

“About two years ago in actual fact we asked the Israelis to come across and they helped us set up our disaster team so that we could respond in this kind of manner,” said Alastair Conn, Chief of Emergency Services at Massachusetts General Hospital, responding to a question about the preparedness of his staff to handle trauma on this scale.

Earlier in the interview Conn was asked, “Would you characterize these as almost something you would see in a military setting?”

“Oh absolutely, absolutely this is like a bomb explosion that we hear about in the news in Baghdad, or Israel or some other tragic place in the world,” he responded.

But as I’ve shown a few times before, Silverstein himself is ignorant when it comes to Judaism.

In a recent post on recently convicted “Jewish terrorist” Jack Teitel, Silverstein does it again.

Accompanying the post is the following photo and caption:

But what Teitel is wearing in the photo is not a Jewish ritual prayer shawl. This is:

Known as a tallit gadol,  it is worn over the outer clothes during the morning prayers (Shacharit), as well as during Yom Kippur.

What Teitel is wearing in the photo are tzitzit, also known as the tallit katan.

The tallit katan is worn by Orthodox Jewish males not as a prayer shawl but to fulfill the mitzvah (commandment) of tzitzit (fringes or tassels) per the following Torah passages:

Numbers 15:38: “Speak to the children of Israel and you shall say to them that they shall make for themselves fringes on the corners of their garments, throughout their generations, and they shall affix a thread of blue on the fringe of each corner.”

Deuteronomy 22:12:”You shall make yourself twisted threads, on the four corners of your garment with which you cover yourself.”

The tallit katan is worn all day long, usually under one’s shirt, but sometimes, as in Teitel’s case, over the clothes.

Nitpicking? Perhaps, but Silverstein claims to have studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary and portrays himself as someone knowledgeable on Judaism.

But they have at least one thing in common: they both seemingly like playing video games.

As you may recall. Eli Yishai’s Twitter feed recently indicated a proclivity towards Demon Monkey shenanigans. And today, Silverstein’s showed a number of tweets from Tribez. Unfortunately, I did not take any screenshots, and Silverstein has removed them, but not before others commented.

 

 

 

As funny as this is, Silverstein’s reaction is very informative. As he did when he allowed someone to configure his site, Silverstein once again claimed he was hacked.

 

 

But once again, the truth is something else entirely. After the game is downloaded, you are confronted with the following:

Clearly, when Silverstein (or his children, if Silverstein is to be believed) downloaded the game, they clicked ‘Ok’ and the rest is history. Later on, Silverstein seems to acknowledge he was not hacked, and even gives advice on how to avoid the pitfalls of game notifications.

But the experience is yet another example of Silverstein claiming he hacked, when the truth is way more mundane.

And embarassing for him.
