And hence the myth - that the current “peace process” is conducive with Rabin’s vision - continues.

Sure, Rabin wanted peace, but not at any price. Certainly, not at the price subsequent Israeli governments have been willing to pay.

Update: This explains it:

Iran’s ambassador to Bangkok has requested the aid of Israeli forensics experts in identifying the bodies of 18 Iranian nationals missing after a fatal plane crash Sunday.

In other words, there is no place for politics when we need your help.

Not that we shouldn’t help, and not that we haven’t helped in the past. Although more often than not, the Iranians have rebuffed our offers.

I wonder who the Iranians would turn to for help if they made good on their promise to wipe us off the map.

In terms of this Republican administration, some views about stem cell

research, gay rights, separation of church and state, and on and on—I

don’t agree with any of them. But you can worry about the trees and the

environment and gas emissions later. Right now there’s a bigger

problem, and it’s a guy who doesn’t care if you’re a Republican or a

Democrat; he wants to blow himself up and take you out. That’s the

problem. I think racially profiling anybody from the Middle East …
